I can be a ghost manager if you guys are really that lazy, but look for a damn replacement! awww f***, you moved to Fantrax so there isn't even a 'start active skaters' button for peak laziness. I don't wanna hear any bitching about lineup setting or draft window missing. I gave plenty of notice about my lack of hockey enthusiasm at the end of the season. (although I did watch a bit of the Habs improbable run).

Last chance to pillage the (insert clever names)'s before the deadline. I had a very interesting offer for Story that I have been mulling over. I don't think I'll take it as it has more 'probably a regular' prospects than 'potential star' prospects, but it at least got me thinking.

I wouldn't bet on it happening, but Story might take a one year deal after a down performance with a qualifying offer. I think he has enough track record not to need it, but it is possible he goes that way. -

What is the precedent (honest question). I only remember full year suspensions as the high end of suspensions. Guys like Sam Dyson. Wouldn't this be 2.5x that length? (half of this season + 2 more)

Hot take, I really don't give a f*** about what Morris said. A bit crude?, probably. But if that's the bar for cancelling its too low. not-hot take, Japanese people have a distinct accent. I don't see how that is such a crime to note. Ohtani himself has this accent. It's not like Jack Morris was using coded language to say "Be careful with this guy, he can really hit. But also he's lesser than us whites". It was just a dumb and inappropriate joke. If he is doing this all the time, fine cancel away. But dudes who talk for a living should be given some rope if something less the professional slips out now and then.

It sounds like the original deal had the deferrals in it to be being with. Deferred 6M a year from the start. Crazy. They've rewritten that section since I first read it and added a bit more detail on his 2022 salary

I can 100% see how you would hear that on the broadcast. But just take one second to imagine a situation where someone could just yell that out and not get the slightest bit of pushback from fans or staff? I guess if you walk around thinking everyone is racist, that might make sense.

Tough to gain ground in this race. We pull off an 8-2 in our last 10 games, but its matched exactly by the Rays, Yanks, and A's. Only team we gained on was the BoSox but that's only because we were the one's beating their asses. -

not as sexy as the above, but I still have Waino on the block who has continued to be sneaky-solid. I also have an annoyingly large cadre of 2B eligible peeps if anyone is hurting at the keystone.
