1. Bill Mitchell ‏@billazbbphotog 53s54 seconds ago Chandler Eden of Yavapai (RHP) finally goes in 17th round to TOR. Electric arm, but very inconsistent. Right pitching pgm could help. Eric Longenhagen ‏@longenhagen 57s58 seconds ago Blue Jays 17th rounder is Chandler Eden from Yavapai. Good stuff, command issues this year to the point where he stopped pitching at all.
 2. Jays take Chandler Eden. http://battingleadoff.com/2015/02/23/2015-draft-prospect-chandler-eden-yavapai-community-college/

Mechanics/Frame

Long, lean frame, prototypical pitcher’s build. Currently, pretty scrawny but with 15 pounds of added muscle could also produce more velocity. Has clean, loose arm action. Delivery does repeat, although he gets tired fairly easily.

Repertoire

Fastball Have seen the FB up to 93 last summer, but tended to pitch from 88-91. Movement was has both some sink and run, works FB in on righties hands.

Curveball Has a solid curveball in the makings. Ranges from 74-77 and has some bite and shape to it. Have seen him throw it on a 12-6 plane, but usually is more like 11-5 movement.

Command

This is the biggest weakness in his game. He struggles not only with command, but also control especially when he is left in the game for more than two innings. Most noticeable with curveball that hangs some and a FB that he cannot keep consistently down in the zone.

Overall outlook:

The ceiling on Eden is high given his arm action and natural athleticism. He is also very young for his grade and with maturity could get significantly better. Would consider him in a starting role probably back of the rotation if he adds a changeup and learns to have better poise and maturity on the mound. Right now middle of the bullpen pitcher. Draft status would be just inside the top 10 rounds.

3. Pompey still dropping. Jays take another 3B. Christian Williams, Gulf Coast CC.
 4. JJ Cooper ‏@jjcoop36 4s4 seconds ago Royals' 15th-rd pick Marquise Doherty is a premium athlete who is planning to play FB and baseball at Missouri. Expensive? But lots of pot. lol. Lots of pot.

 12. Video of Crouse: More if you look at related videos.
 13. Brian Sakowski ‏@B_Sakowski_PG 14s15 seconds ago Wesley Rodriguez goes to Arizona. Smaller RHP with legit arm strength, up to 98-99 this spring, reliever profile but raw arm strength is big
 14. http://332b71db85586c638269-7b3e649a230e2ba2cff912d8af17e0b5.r41.cf1.rackcdn.com/1692-Orange-23.jpg PG had his fastball up to 94. From 2013: Marrick Crouse is a 2015 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Dana Point, CA who attends Dana Hills. Extra large frame, long, lean build with room to fill on upper body, strong lower half. Right handed pitcher who throws from high three quarter arm slot with high leg kick. Repeats delivery and finishes pitches well. Live fastball up to 85 mph which he spots well to corners, especially glove side. Short 11/5 curveball with sharp, hard bite at 75 mph and flashed a 78 mph changeup. Short arm action from the outfield, throws easy, and showed good arm strength. Right handed batter who starts with wide base. Swing gets long but has lift and power to pull side, ball carries well off bat. Good student, verbal commitment to San Francisco.
