  1. No baseball today. It's going to be a long offseason.
  2. Nah I'm not. Sounds good. Have fun!
  3. Read this again, Grant.
  4. It's because the post-season is essentially a coin flip, but the Cubs are a better team than the Giants, so that is why NJH would rather face the Giants in a 7 game series. This is not rocket science. My mind is blown that you are actually asking why talent level determines team success. If you want talent level look at fWAR. Cubs ranked 1st in batting fWAR, 4th in pitching fWAR and 1st in fielding fWAR throughout the entire MLB. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2016&month=31&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0
  5. By my understanding, NJH does not care about the Cubs win/loss record in the regular season. He's looking at the talent level of the team, which is stacked to the brim and quite a bit better than the Giants.
  6. What did I say that was incorrect? Isn't that what the basis of this whole argument is? - The Cubs are unarguably the better team than the Giants - You would rather face the Cubs, because the Giants playoff track record is "legit"
  7. So, Grant thinks the Giants are a straight up better team than the Cubs? Or that the Cubs are a better team than the Giants but the Giants are a better "post-season" team due to their recent WS rings?
  8. You could say that for a lot of players though. Imagine if Kevin Pillar could hit as good as he did in the minors? He would be a top 5 player in baseball.
  9. Thread ruined.
  10. October 11th Alford, Jansen, McBroom started for Mesa Mayza and Stilson pitched. Mayza got torched (Sorry Gruber) Bernie Pleskoff ‏@BerniePleskoff 1h1 hour ago RBI single to right field for #BlueJays Anthony Alford. He has a really big, strong upper body. Nice, easy swing on that base hit. http://i.imgur.com/v6Ci3LP.png http://i.imgur.com/ZEgbeCi.png http://i.imgur.com/Y5xlaPt.png Tebow started for Scottsdale, but went 0/3 Jays winter league stats have started to be updated here: http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/org.jsp?id=tor David Adams, Jesus Montero, Dustin Antolin, Wilmer Font, Jason Leblebijian, Casey Lawrence are all playing in the VWL
  11. The league was running on a loss financially and MLB decided to allocate their money elsewhere, now they put it towards helping Baseball Australia and baseball academies there. It's a shame, since that league was pretty good as far as winter leagues go. All the games were broadcasted in HD, and we had several decent prospects there each year. It was very fan friendly and easy to follow.
  12. The black guy.
  13. Truly Maddoning.
  14. For the Cubs the only reliever left is Carl Edwards Jr. then Lackey/Lester/Hendricks. For the Giants, Blach/Casilla/Kontos/Lopez/Smith, then Samardzija, Cueto and Moore. I do not expect you to know who any of these pitchers are. And as I type this they put the graphic up on the screen.
  15. Romo had the slider working that inning.
  16. Posey vs the LHP. Here come the Giants
  17. So how many times can he call a sinker a slider before someone corrects him on it?
  18. He's no Cody Allen.
  19. What a fun team the Giants have. A bunch of gamers. No quit!
  20. I heard Jaysblue and Spanky are heading down together.
  21. the Jays/Indians Canada day game is one I won't forget for a long time. What a match!
  22. Another storyline to follow in the AFL is Tim Tebow. He was recently assigned there by the mets.
