Nah they have a good team and are starting to push the deadweight out. First time in the history of the team where they can roll 4 full lines without the 4th (and 3rd) line being a liability. Pavelec abolished to AHL backup, Stuart and Thorburn are healthy scratches. Hellebuyck was a top 3 goalie in ES SV% last season.. They just need Little to comeback healthy, and Trouba or a Trouba equivalent to help out on defense. I think they have a good shot at making the playoffs this year.

But who cares? Any rookie starter would be nervous in that situation, it's not a controversial statement. Credit to Merritt he pitched a great game. This is something I'm definitely not getting angry over which a lot of people are.

Its easy to make fun of Bautista for it but the shaking in his boots meme was taken out of context. He was asked about the rookie starter and he said "He'll be shaking in his boots more than we are. It could go either way." Thats definitely not as bad as just, "He'll be shaking in his boots."

Guy put in an average year despite completely tanking in the 2nd half. He will probably not be back next season but I appreciated his efforts.
