Now that we're officially looking towards 2015 what pieces should be moving now?
I may hold onto Dickey and Buehrle for the season or at least until end of July just to help save our bullpen and young starters.
Rasmus
Bautista
Encarnacion (may hold onto him, try to sign to another extension)
Reyes
we should look at moving sooner rather than later and hopefully get some nice returns. Get what ever team trades for them to agree to take Happ and Izturis to clear that pay roll.
Janssen although I like him and Santos should be the next 2 out the door.
We could then give Gose, Sierra and maybe someone we get in return almost a full season of development in the big leagues.
You'd think those 5-6 players should net us a nice return to start building a contender for the 2016 maybe 2017 season.
The additional $$$ saved by making early moves could be re-invested into the FA market for some younger players maybe even on, dare I say it, a 7 year deal.
If we could maybe snag a top young SP and catching prospect that would be great.
Been a Jays fan since 1985, seen the highs and low's. Obviously not making playoffs this year. We tried last year and failed miserably and could be cursing the Dickey trade for the next 10 years. That being said no sense in making it worse. Players are depreciable assets especially once they hit about 31 years. Time to use those players to rebuild.
