  1. wow has Bautista been popping up a whole lot lately? on good pitches too..
  2. Man I hate these pitching duels. Gets me very nervous.
  3. Kawasaki absolutely needs to be sent down, and it's the right baseball situation. If Kawasaki weren't such a goofy, lovable guy, would you feel the same way about him? The only thing he provides is a good approach at the plate. His defense is average and his hit tool is pathetic. But he takes a lot of pitches and spoils tough ones. There are a lot of guys in the minors that can do that. If I had to choose between Kawasaki, Wagner and Perez, I'd choose the first option. Wagner is doing great and will contribute more than Kawasaki will. Perez would have to go on waivers and his performance so for guarantees he will be claimed.
  4. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/bluejays/2013/06/21/toronto-blue-jays-bounce-back-after-slow-start/2444647/ Also credits the team's success to Gibbons
  5. That doesn't really annoy me. What really annoys me when he gets all excited on a flyball thinking it's a homer when it's just a lazy flyball Or how about that putrid call in Chicago last week where he called Bautista flyball as a potential homer then backtracked. Only for the ball to go out. He didn't even cover his ass by saying "that ball carried" or "I thought ball would be caught!"
  6. Why do we have multiple cameras that give different views of the pitcher/batter? Why do we have cameras facing the dugout, the crowds? e.t.c. Entertainment. I find this view nice because it shows the path of the hitter's swing and where he hit it (out infront, late, e.t.c)
  7. You're a god damn media company! http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7292/9098033080_a09b3e1206_o.gif
  8. except Chipper Jones http://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/story/2009/03/18/sp-jones-wbc.html
  9. http://www.athlonsports.com/mlb/major-league-baseball-players-poll-revealing-results-about-gay-teammates-peds-and-more Jays related: 6.4% of players polled would never want to play for the Jays (4th) 7% " " would want Toronto replaced (5th)
  10. How about Tim Lincecum guys? Giants could be sellers.. If he fails at the rotation we could put him in the bullpen where he excelled last year. Not sure how much it would cost, though.
  11. Colby talks about himself and the work he's doing with Motor (Chad Mottola) http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/davidi-rasmus-learning-to-deal-with-failure/
  12. Not feeling too good about this series, and I'm gonna go to the Sat game. Can't stop the double whammy of Manny Davis.
  13. Bucholz placed on 15-day DL We won't be seeing him this coming series. edit: Nvm it was backdated. He could come back on Tuesday.
  14. Dickey Johnson Buehrle Stroman Romero Wang, Rogers both regress, get released/put in bullpen Happ is done after a setback Morrow, TJ
  15. Do you guys think Hutchison will be able to come back around August? I can't remember at what point he opted for surgery last year and if I recall it can take anywhere from 8 months to more than a year to come back.
  16. and the one who got away, Paxton
  17. You expect Rogers to put quality starts together? The guy is a 2-pitch pitcher with bad control
  18. Luis Perez also suffered a setback in his return from Tommy John surgery. His rehab has been stopped, Gibbons called it a minor issue. The next two candidates for the Delabar Throwing Program.
  19. John Lott ‏@LottOnBaseball 1m Gibbons says Morrow had setback in rehab start last night, having forearm re-examined. tj
  20. Danny Knobler ‏@DannyKnoblerCBS 6m Yankees say Youkilis has herniated disk, needs surgery. Out at least 10-12 weeks.Retweeted by Jon Heyman
  21. Youkilis' season may be over: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130617&content_id=50907902&notebook_id=50908484&vkey=notebook_nyy&c_id=nyy
  22. He's a good defender and was actually pretty good at stealing bases when he was younger. But now that's older and sort of built, I'm not sure if he can contribute on the basepaths. Won't be star material, though.
  23. I hate to be a debbie downer, but you need to look deeper. This team will only survive with it's pitching. Right now we're counting on Rogers and Wang. I don't think anyone here expect them to continue their hotstreaks. Buerhle is now good, yes. But Johnson is a worry as is Morrow. Dickey has been mediocre, and when he's been bad he's been terrible. The offense is doing well, and even if Lind regresses I think we'll still be fine. Bullpen is fine. But everything rests on the pitching and until I see consistency from Johnson, Dickey and Morrow - this team is done by August.
  24. Shame we don't use the old board, would be fun pulling up pre-season quotes on Lind.
