Donaldson has great range, great fielding, strong arm, terrible accuracy
Lawrie has great range, great fielding, strong arm, strong accuracy
That's enough to make him superior
And just cause defensive war will probably list him as better than Lawrie doesn't mean much to me. Remember when WAR was showing Lawrie as a supergod? There are flaws in every metric, and I think having all the facets of defensive ability lumped up into a single metric masks some flaws.
If I had to choose between Donaldson's defense and Lawrie's defense, I'll always take Lawrie, even if the metric shows him higher.
