  1. I honestly don't see anything that warrants the Harper hate. Is it the arrogance? I don't think he was arrogant outside of his minor league days. When he was called up he didn't do anything outrageous. I think people are just jealous that someone so young is going to be so good. And he knows he is good.
  2. I should pull a BTS and became a fan of another team out of protest. Yankees!
  3. It should be Bryce Harper, but because the rest of the league hates him...
  4. This all started because Rogers decided to make a move midseason.
  5. He said he had to make a decision by Wednesday afternoon, so thats the deadline.
  6. With how Shapiro operates, it's gonna happen.
  7. The Mets and Jays are in similar positions. Average/s*** for several years and then finally made it. The Mets can keep going while it seems Shapiro wants to go back to old ways.
  8. come at me brah
  9. I'm gonna use that as my avatar now
  10. So Shapiro doesn't want long-term free agents. Nor does he want us to trade blue chippers for premium players. How does he expect us to compete past 2016? 100% into drafting? Trading away our premium, short-term players for quality prospects? This does not bode well.
  11. I think he'll be going back to mowing his own lawn
  12. They are both 10/5. I can't see either of them being traded unless we are tanking hard at the deadline AND they will be going to competitive teams. Kind of like the Halladay situation.
  13. My outrage more stems with the purported comments that Shapiro ripped into AA for trading away blue chips, which leads me to believe that Shapiro wants to run this team differently. I think AA is replaceable. He's not great, not terrible, but above average. Right now I don't see anyone better than him as a candidate. But I'm more mad at what this means in terms of team direction.
  14. 4 teams in the bottom half of the league were under the Jays and made the post season http://deadspin.com/2015-payrolls-and-salaries-for-every-mlb-team-1695040045
  15. Hmm I have a strong feeling that Rogers may actually drop payroll down and AA wasn't happy about this. And Shapiro was brought in since he has experience with lower payrolls. And Rogers will point to the Mets and Royals as small market teams that know how to compete with less money.
  16. I think that was Josh Sale, the Tampa wash out.
  17. Comon dude, you of all people should know that the draft is hit and miss. Are we going to s*** on all the other teams because all of them passed over Albert Pujols dozens of times?
  18. I'm not sure if I want to commit for 20-game flex packs when they come available next month.
  19. Why are we going to blame him on the record? He came here with a s***** team and terrible farm system. He gamed the system with those supplemental picks and was able to quickly turn around the minor league system. He hasn't had an absolutely terrible trade other than the Napoli trade. The Marlins deal was a loss, but it wasn't devastating as we got use out of Buehrle and Reyes flipped for Tulo. And at least with Dickey we had a reliable +200 IP guy.
  20. I'm pretty sure AA leaving shows that Shapiro doesn't want a big name GM. He just needs a yes man that is willing to take on a face-value role. Shapiro is the one who is going to be making the decisions here.
  21. I already hate Shapiro
  22. Park to be posted: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/10/nexen-heroes-to-post-byung-ho-park.html More surprisingly is that Eric Thames became legendary .381/.497.790 - 47 HR I had high hopes for Black Eric Hinske. Such a good person too
  23. The Braves will be in compete mode in a few years with the new stadium, and Freeman will be a part of that. They would only part with him if they got back pieces that would help in the near future, like Stroman/Sanchez/Osuna.
  24. Amazing how far he's gone. I remember when he got called up (May? June?) and I felt like he would just be another part of the revolving door. Smoak has 1 more arb year, right? I wonder what we'll do with him. He'll be a bit expensive.
  25. He looks like the kid who would ask to play Yu-Gi-Oh during recess and get bullied
