Why is that...cause I have actually lived in the place in question and have a differing view. I could go into depth why crime rates are high, especially in large US cities, but many on here would not like to read this on a baseball forum.

Crime stats just like baseball stats tell a story and have reasons for their value. Trust me, I'd feel safer walking down the street at night in Texas vs Toronto.

Any large city will be similar stat wise in my opinion.

Texas as a whole. Dallas is more like Toronto, pretty much any big city is, but just the mentality of Texans in general I would say anywhere in Texas is pretty safe compared to a city the size of Toronto.

Been a fan since 90ish even though I was only 4 and not even from Canada. Can remember staying up to watch the World Series wins both times. -
I lived in Texas for 3 yrs, it's way safer than Toronto.
