    Depends what they think he should have thrown instead

    He is a #2 in the current state. I think he became scared to throw the 4 seam fastball after his first stint in the big leagues

    Someone needs to sit him down and say start using the 4 seam fastball, then in the offseason perfect the changeup. Would make a huge difference

    But the problem isn't solely with him...its the coaches that are pushing it as well.

    The way Cecil has pitched this year I would argue using him there was not smart. Needs less high leverage situations until he gets back into form

    Take out 7 runs and what is his ERA?...that's what I am talking about.

    Both would be really great if they could perfect the changeup

    The bullpen has given up 6 of those runs and that's just from 2 games and FIP is directly related to strikeouts. He hasn't pitched like an ace but he hasn't been terrible.

    2 of Stroman's and maybe 1 or 2 more. 6. Blown games already...would be awesome if we had 16 wins already. Hopefully that hit that stride soon

    Every game he has left with giving up 3 runs or less. If that's a 4th or 5th starter we might have the best staff in MLB

    Cecil Tha. Storen would have been passable. Cecil than the long reliever is like wtf lol

    But it really didnt. The limit pitch counts and bullpen use did. Giving up 1 run in 6 2/3s is good. If we had the sox pen we win easy. I never blame a starter if the pen has a 4 run lead and need just 1 out.

    And used 2 long relievers and 4 relives total to get 7 outs (we need some massive upgrades in the pen)

    Gibby is the worst bullpen manager in have ever seen.

    Are they updating the site or is something wrong? It keeps going out.

    It comes down to Cecil and Storen pitching like last year and defining roles better for Chavez and Floyd. Also actually using Bigani and Vendetti

    Gibby deserves this. That's 2 times taking him out before 100 pitches and a big lead. Both blow by the bullpen tonight and bad managing the first time. 1 out is all they needed. Great game by Stroman. Bullpen is terrible and not used properly that's the problem

    7th inning or later we have blown 6 leads for losses. Managing the bullpen and executing from the bullpen just plain bad to start the year.

    He throws the quick pitch changeup better than the normal changeup
