  1. Need to watch better. Hit Mcguire's glove on all 3 homers. 1 of which was 6 inches off the plate. Problem was it was all on offspeed pitches which might have been questionable pitch selections. He gave up 1 other hit and that pitch was also off the plate. It amounted to bad pitch calling and good hitting on pitches that weren't bad, but weren't great. Now his velocity was down a little and he had a few issues with the mound it appeared and he got hit by a line drive Overall a solid outing with areas that need improvement
  2. Very disappointed in the pitch calling all night Manoah needs to get the slider going for sure though
  3. #3 is the biggest farce ever concocted to use as a reason to not have issues with the managing, which has been horrendous to say the least. It has statistically cost the team multiple wins this week based on #1 alone. #2 you only do again if you want a weak non reality based argument to support Montoyo. In reality though there haven't been many decisions playing time wise that would be put on him...is Panik going to start at SS for Bo because he moonwalked on a homerun, no. If we had a healthy Springer to start the year, yeah that might be a little evident on playing time decisions, but for the most part it sorted itself out in the OF and for the most part DH. You, me, even Spanky could make these decisions and they would be the same. What is most impacted by a manager is his bullpen decisions and usage. Montoyo has been one of the worst possible in this category, especially after we lost 3 or 4 RPs. Sucks to be put in that position because of injuries, but he has failed enormously making these decisions this month. Cost the team 3-4 wins in basically 2 weeks. We shouldn't be looking at it if manager X would would have won those games, but rather would any manager have made better choices at key moments particularly with the bullpen. Would a different manager use Romano more wisely for save situations in the absence of anyone else currently that can do it? Would a different manager not throw Chatwood to the wolves with no command to prove a point and lose a game? Would a different manager not use Dolis to get a save when Romano is twirling his thumbs ready to go? Would another manager try Chatwood? Would another manager try bunting st the failed rate and failed execution that Monotyo has done resulting in a loss at least? Montoyo needs to go and you try and get someone who you think will make better choices
  4. So we lost cause Montoyo was proving a point to Chatwood...really
  5. Funny thing is, MILB went back to 9 inning double headers this season
  6. So varies from pitch to pitch
  7. How good is AAA pitch tracks, cause it appears his command was good again. Lots of pitches in the zone or on the corner called balls. Not a lot of wild pitches
  8. Hopefully ups his game and attitude to match Manoah's Great game from Manoah!
  9. Thats your opinion and you are making assumptions that I do not agree with and have shown how they dont hold truth in most cases. Ford has a high value based on last summer only because this year has not been as good. Fabian is playing vs the top college players and Ford isn't. Taking a risk on Ford vs the risk on Fabian is not the smart play imo. Fabian is a better use of the pick and money. Also I dont believe your comparisons are comparable based on talent, level, issues at hand, etc
  10. Latest mock from MLB has us taking Fabian https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/mock-ml...mpression=true

  12. Better than using it on a high school catcher who took a turn down this season. Fabian has shown he can hit against the top pitchers college has. You then project how he will continue to advance given his young age and lost development year. Much better use of our money
  13. So 1 3 game stretch vs the best team in the country is a be all end all sample size? How bout when he went deep off Leiter 2 times in a game. That trumps that 3 game stretch and shows he can destroy top pitching right lol. Seems you are not taking into account the season as a whole, the changes made, the vast improvement from the beginning of the season, and the fact he is 20 and should be a sophmore this year, also missed a big year of development last year due to covid
  14. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2021-mlb-draft-stock-watch-rising-names-in-our-ba-400-rankings-update/%3famphtml
  15. The strikeouts were a problem on his slow start. Once he got going he has been a beast. He has the same tools as before the year, but has shown a lot more power. Even vs the top pitchers in this draft. He is also only 20. He will have the potential to hit for average and power, with some stolen bases and really good defense in CF. He has a 36% K rate and a 18% BB rate in the best college conference even with his horrible start. Given the lost time and issues with the pandemic I think he is just getting back up to speed.
  16. I dont see them going with a high school catcher who they would be relying on last summer's results because he hasn't faired as well this year vs a 20 year old Fabian who has done well against SEC pitching and vs the top pitcher in this draft. I think they are trying to fit Ford with us just because we have looked at him
  17. I just don't see it
  18. If they make any trades this year it will be at the deadline if we have a shot only
