1. Defense and base running has been pretty obvious issues that seems to compound as time goes on
2. Don't care. Consider it the analytical play of running to 1B. Vlad hits the ball so hard that when its statistically a guaranteed out and no chance of making it close he doesn't run it out full go or far. Deal with it. The analysis shows clearly that this method helps keep Vlad fresher and not tired, while allowing for less chances for injury. Vlad goes full out on grounders that will be close or he can beat and those are the ones you want him to run on. Its about the long game and his method is backed by science and data. Vlad's 2nd half last year he tired tremendously and has said he is doing everything to stay fresh this year. Not running on clear outs is acceptable
3. We suck at manufacturing runs thats for sure. Stealing bases is part of it. Bigger issue is situational hitting (runner on 3rd less than 2 outs and RISP)
I do think coaching plays a role in 1 and 3. Montoyo receives the blame imo
It was an offensive comparison showing just how little K% means if you are hitting for a solid avg and power, along with just how big a difference a few HRs and/extra base hits mean
Just interesting....
Player A: .268 AVG, 29.4% K, 12.2% BB, .369 OBP, 24 HR
Player B: .269 AVG, 17.8% K, 10.1% BB, .350 OBP, 19 HR
Player A could win the MVP and is almost 8 years older
Player B is a complete disappointment to many lmao
Screw that Kirk has been bad the last 2 weeks...off with his head. I here the Yankees need a C. Also, Manoah couldn't get by the A's in Oakland
No mercy. Get rid of everyone. We must strive to be the Pirates for 20 years
