They just need to relax and stop trying to hit everything. Take a bloody walk if that's what the pitcher gives you. This guy is nothing special, they're just bailing him out by swinging at borderline stuff in every AB. -

Second time through the lineup, maybe we'll see a better idea here. 3-1 count to Reyes, swings at one borderline up and away, that should have been a take all day even if it was called a strike. It was a piss-poor pitch to try and do anything with. Then two pitches later, he lets the pitcher climb the ladder on him. Weak out to LF. Just a really poor AB.

I dunno, but if it's so bad that he's not even available to pinch hit, why isn't he on the frigging DL? Just did this earlier this year with Navarro and his quad thing and we had up put up with the worst base runner in the majors being even slower and more useless rather than seeing a competant catcher

While I agree, you know it's coming. AA is in first place and accordion to his own statements, more players are available then they thought. I think it's only a matter of time before AA does something stupid.

No doubt. I don't think anyone here is trying to take away from Tanaka's talent. But it's a very obvious fact that the ump has been handing him free strikes all night and it's having a bigtime effect on the Jays discipline. They can't protect a strike zone that's both wide and low.
