Nobody is. But failure to consider projections in trades is monumentally stupid. Every team in baseball uses projections with their own metrics, outside metrics, the eye test.... whatever... but they all use them. -

I think the Raps problem is fairly obvious, their defense is suspect at best. Opponents scoring 101.5 ppg 21st in the league Opponents fg% 46.3... 24th in the league Opponents offensive rebounds per game 11.2 21st in the league Too many easy buckets at the rim.

Yes, Ruth was far better than average player then, than Bonds was over the average player in his era, but the gap between replacement and elite always closes over time in every sport. The elite of each era can never truly be compared against each other talentwise.
