  1. That's pretty much worst case scenario at this point, barring injury
  2. Until he took Gose out for Rasmus ... Kind of a weird move.
  3. Reyes (3pts) - Melky (3pts) - GD, vdub Bautista (1pt) - Dylan, LetTheBallFly Navarro (4pts) - Rasmus (2pts) - Deadpool Valencia (7pts) - Orgfiller, G-Snarls, Angrioter, johnhavok Gose (9pts) - Goins (9pts) -baseballss Bench (10pts) -o2cui2i
  4. Oh... The white text hooks me.... f*** you GD you virgin prick!
  5. No. Progression is not the opposite of regression. A very infuriatingly common mistake, much like idiots who say irregardless. Progression/retrogression
  6. There's a very real possibility your name will be showing up in red before the night is over
  7. And in no wAy I'm saying that missing out on Prado is the end of the world, but the were moves out there to be made whether it was Prado, or a decent pen arm that could have helped the Jays, where the excuse for not making could not have been "they wanted major league roster players back." When you see the returns that these other guys were going for, there's just no way it can be true unless very other GM in baseball just decides to ask AA to pay three times the value that they end up settling for.
  8. I didnt expect any big moves to be done that would require sanchez or Stroman. There's no way you will ever convince me that towers was asking for Samchez or Stroman for Prado, but settled for a prospect literally 5 people have heard of out of the Yankees system, or that a decent pen arm would cost Stroman or Sanchez. Anyone expecting the blockbuster type trade is delusional, but those smaller low cost deals that would have still helped the team were also nowhere to be found. I find the argument of "well we don't know what other teams were offering or what they wanted so we better just assume AA did everything right" is a bit shortsighted.
  9. Hope the jays take out theirs frustrations on Buchanen and light his ass up. Be frustrated off the field if you want, but once the game starts, put it away and be pros.
  10. Rumours say Keuchel was not really on the market, they were just listening on him and McHugh in case something came along that was a huge overpay
  11. I can't say i disagree. There were moves to be made today that could help the team without costing a lot.
  12. Yup. Not that it would really matter in this game likely, but in a close game you sure as f*** don't take Gose and put him in LF in favor of jose in right. All that space out there you need the plus plus range of Gose
  13. To me, a simple solution would be the following. You have batters boxes... Draw a catchers box in front of the plate and that's where his feet have to be until he has possession of the ball. If he has to move out of the box on the inside of the base lines or on the first base side of home, no problem. But if they move Into the foul territory up the third base line before they have the ball... If contact is made by the runner... He's safe.
  14. OFFICIAL BASEBALL RULE 7.13 Collisions at home plate A runner attempting to score may not deviate from his direct pathway to the plate in order to initiate contact with the catcher (or other player covering home plate). If, in the judgment of the umpire, a runner attempting to score initiates contact with the catcher (or other player covering home plate) in such a manner, the umpire shall declare the runner out (even if the player covering home plate loses possession of the ball). In such circumstances, the umpire shall call the ball dead, and all other baserunners shall return to the last base touched at the time of the collision. Rule 7.13 comment: The failure by the runner to make an effort to touch the plate, the runner's lowering of the shoulder, or the runner's pushing through with his hands, elbows or arms, would support a determination that the runner deviated from the pathway in order to initiate contact with the catcher in violation of Rule 7.13. If the runner slides into the plate in an appropriate manner, he shall not be adjudged to have violated Rule 7.13. A slide shall be deemed appropriate, in the case of a feet first slide, if the runner's buttocks and legs should hit the ground before contact with the catcher. In the case of a head first slide, a runner shall be deemed to have slid appropriately if his body should hit the ground before contact with the catcher. Unless the catcher is in possession of the ball, the catcher cannot block the pathway of the runner as he is attempting to score. If, in the judgment of the umpire, the catcher without possession of the ball blocks the pathway of the runner, the umpire shall call or signal the runner safe. Notwithstanding the above, it shall not be considered a violation of this Rule 7.13 if the catcher blocks the pathway of the runner in order to field a throw, and the umpire determines that the catcher could not have fielded the ball without blocking the pathway of the runner and that contact with the runner was unavoidable. To me, the bolded part made the call what it was. He couldn't give Melky a lane because he had to go up the line to field the throw
  15. Not sure if you could argue that it was the throw that forced the catcher up the line, if that's where the throw goes, he still has to be allowed to catch it. It's one of those rules that umpires still don't really know how to call, which is why unless it's plainly obvious, it won't get overturned.
  16. No kidding. It's like he gets up there with runners on and figures the first pitch is going to be the only good one, sells out and ends up looking silly
  17. No kidding. They can't lose these days. Jays have been on a tear and only made up 1 game.
  18. The why did you state earlier in the thread "He's no sure bet to mash lefties, But arguing that because of regression he can't is much more stupid," when You're basically agreeing with the principle of regression?
  19. Which would then seem to indicate that expecting lower numbers than his prior stats would suggest, because it's based on a small sample size would seem pretty smart... Correct? That's basically what you just said so I assume you would agree
  20. Why is it stupid? You said yourself he's no sure bet to mash lefties. Explain why
