  1. Me too. I also want to see what his control is like to see if his lack of walks in the minors is legit. Also want to see this mysterious cutter he learned accidentally.
  2. Never seen Jose so "bouncy" at the plate in his setup.
  3. Yeah, it sucks wanting to hear actual analysis in a ball game.
  4. f*** that. The guy is supposed to be a professional and can't call a ball game any better than Helen Keller.
  5. Dynamite Tabby. Buck: a lot of young players being called up in September. Tabby: yeah, I guess they really want to see what these kids have. Ya think?
  6. Yup, another genius call by Maddon to get his guy hit and keep the line moving.
  7. Lol, now a bloop sac fly. And there's Buck saying the Rays are manufacturing runs... Yep. Getting sawed off bloop singles and fluky sac flies to the short stop, what a genius Maddon is for calling those.
  8. Buck going derp again. It's "this generation" and their approach as to why they get in the hands with pitches. All those protective pads and the umpires issuing warnings to pitchers... Back in his day you might get thrown at 2 or 3 times... And that hitter should just get off his lawn. f***ing ridiculous. Can't just be the really nasty moving knuckleball that had anything to with it...
  9. I use Scully to fall asleep to, but it's intentional because his monotone voice is so uninteresting. I love the stories and the guy is a legend but his voice and delivery are boring as f***.
  10. I dunno, I think the option being picked up ship has sailed. Maybe you non-tender him and try to bring him back cheaper, but he's basically lost his rotation spot and is way too expensive to keep round as a reliever.
  11. Not to be too obvious, but I'm guessing you'll see him in the lineup when he starts a game
  12. They want him to throw and there's no minor league team's left to rehab with unless you put him in the playoffs in Vancouver or Dunedin.
  13. Gonna be a long night if Dickey doesn't get those obvious strike calls in the lower part of the zone...
  14. Pompey went out in style in buffalo, 4-6 tonight with 2 doubles raising his avg to .358.
  15. How about his first catcher....
  16. And that's why bringing him up now is puzzling. Why add him to the 40 man now, which means if he is projected as SP depth in AAA next year, you burn an option year next year if you dont have to? I'm thinking it means they want to get a look and see if he can be a legit 5th starter, which means Happ could be dealt.
  17. I disagree that he has nothing to prove in the minors, dude has thrown 40 innings at AA or higher. He lacks strikeout stuff doesn't walk a lot of guys and generates a ton of ground balls... In the minors. Seeing how that translates against big league hitters is huge, especially without strikeout stuff.
  18. And the way it's going, you only need to get 1 right to make it.
  19. Agreed. He's still got talent and he'll be cheap.
  20. I get Pompey, and understand Norris, but I don't get Graveman. They have another 2 years before they would have to add him.
  21. A regular pen role with expanded rosters means maybe once a week.
  22. Was listening to mlb radio and Jim Bowden, the ex-GM said that same scout worked for Jim as a cross checker, and it wouldn't surprise him in the least if it were true. He basically said the guy was good at his job, but was a giant douche.
  23. No kidding. And 4 roster spots have to opened. Not that the guys being turfed are worth keeping but still. 9 guys is a ton, especially with 5 position players.
  24. Actually this is looking pretty positive. There's a lot of dead weight coming off the roster this offseason. Mastro, Hynes, Janssen, morrow, Hague, Rasmus, likely McGowan, possibly Johnson, Tolleson, Francisco and maybe even Cabrera could be gone. Pompey was a must add, so there plenty of room for Graveman and Norris and lots of space for AA to go his usual reliever binge.
