  1. None of these sliders are even starting in the zone. Piss poor approach right now

  3. I say this every time the Jays pitch pedroia away on every pitch, it's stupid. You gotta mix it up better than that.
  4. Just got back from golfing, did I miss anything?
  5. http://m.milb.com/news/article/20160408171157114/blue_jays_alford_exits_opener_with_leg_injury Update on alford "He walked off under his own power, and the injury is not considered serious."

  7. Seen any video of Robinson Cano the year? Dude looks like he went on the Barry Bonds-lite offseason regimen.
  8. Am I the only one that read J. Eickhoff as "jackoff?"
  9. I don't see why they feel the need to experimnet with him in the leadoff spot to begun with when he's allergic to walks and getting on base. Ya he can steal the occasional bag, but you cant steal 1st. Old school thinking at its worst.

  11. That's one way to look at it. Another would be not to bet on the likelihood of a career busted minor leaguer carrying a .411 babip through another season, when the only way he can be relevant is to dupicate that highly unlikley scenaio, since he absolutely and inarguably sucks at defense.
  12. I mean, it's too bad Casey is punting the game, but JV has come to play for sure I get resting your big guys before the playoffs, but you already have 2 days off until your next game and have games against the knicks, sixers and nets to close the season where you could easily rest them without a big deal. But when you're letting Thompson, Wright, JV, Patterson and Ross go head to head with Parker, Aldridge, Leonard, Duncan and ginobli, youre in for pain.
  13. JV playing like an animal for the last 2 games. Wish this was what he put out there consistently
  14. Dammit Now Pillar will hit leadoff all year....
  15. ESPN predictions http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/page/seasonpreview_wsbluejays/why-toronto-blue-jays-win-world-series After the Jays article they have all their staffers pick division winners
  16. Can't wait for a Keri / Zaun head to head opinion segment.
  17. Good time of year to try and resurrect the career of Jesus.
  18. His main issue is that his amazing changeup is rendered useless because he can't command his fastball, which let's opposing hitters just sit on the change.
  19. It's a fairly irrefutable fact that the vast majority of professional athletes in any of the major sports are in clear decline by the time they are in their early 30s, let alone their mid to late 30s. Betting on aging ballplayers remaining valuable while paying them market value is a recipe for disaster. Sure you can have a couple, but after this year, that couple will be Tulo and Martin, with a side of Donaldson in the next year. I don't want the Jays to be out of anything by the deadline, but that doesn't mean I can't see what's best for the ball club's future IF that's the case.
  20. People equate "big arm" with velocity. As for why his fastball isn't elite, yeah...poor command is pretty much it plus the fact that he has nothing hard that breaks to his glove side (apparantly he's working on a cutter which could partially help to solve that) Basically, batters know if it's hard, it's moving arm side and they can lay off quite easily on pitches that he might get swings on if it wasn't so predictable.
  21. It could be, but he did throw 35 innings in the minors over 9 starts, so it would have been longer than your typical rehab time. If they did get an extra option though that's the most likely reason.
  22. Yeah. He didn't debut until 2014 in July and wasn't on the 40 man roster in 2013 so 2016 should be his last option year. Hutch should be out of options he debuted in 2012, spent all of 2013 in the minors ... all of 2014 in the majors....and part of 2015 in the minors.
