    It's fine to prefer one over the other, but id prefer people do so while making actual points. AA had several strengths, but also left the entire system gutted and the roster aged and declining. He pushed the chips in, and ultimately failed. All of AA's credit was building up the system to the point where he could go all in. He was also great at gaming the Comp A and B system when it was still around which one could argue was alrgely responsible for having such a full system. Getting 2-4 extra picks in the top 2-3 rounds never hurts. I dont even know why people bitch about Shapiro when it comes to team and roster, he has nearly nothing to do with that. Shapiro is probably the best front office guy the Jays could hope to have right now to do what they need doing from a business and Rogers Center building perspective.

    True. I was thinking along the lines of whether Milwaukee will want to pony up for both Woodruff and Burnes for another season with both headed for FA after 2024. One or both might be on the way out for max return. This assumes Woodruff returns to the lineup and puitches well in teh few starts he might get prior to the deadline. Or Milwaukee could see the Central as winnable (which it is...), opt to tweak a bit and revisit the trade possibility in the offseason.

    This deadline is going to be weird. Some teams that should definitely sell, won't... and some that should definitely buy... won't. It seems like a gridlock deadline to me

    AL WC teams are Baltimore, Yankees and Toronto. AL East is the hardest division in pro sports right now

    I dont think much of the Twins offense.. pen is middle of the road, but their front end of the pitching staff can shut any team down. Kind of the opposite of the Orioles where they have the offense, but the SP lacks - but the back end of the BP is lights out and good night.

    Angels outscored the Rockies 32-12 in the series, yet still lost the series.

    Teoscar finally showing signs of life in June with a 1.004 OPS for the month so far. This following a .675 march/April and .654 in May.

    It’s not really something that can be predicted, it might correct too late in the season to matter, or it might turn around tomorrow.

    Yeah this is a tweaking season where we see guys our bench and/or pen arms + some prospects get moved to bring in more reliable bench and pen guys. I really don’t see any blockbuster type deals being able to be made to land a 2/3 starter, or solid regular to the lineup. One back end pen arm, one bench bat and that’s about it. I don’t even know who they could be targeting either given the s***** state of the Central divisions where nearly any team even close to .500 still has a chance to win a playoff spot.

    The underlying numbers do not suggest the team is going backwards. If you’re referring to the run differential, the lack of hitting with RISP is largely to blame there. When that regresses back towards the mean, the run differential getting better will follow. The same thing will happen to Texas who are running an otherworldly number when hitting with RISP. That will regress and their differential will not keep going as it is. Still a really good team though. Weirdly though, Texas record in 1 run games sucks. The Jays record in 1 run games is much better. Just weird things that numbers that may or may not mean anything. There’s not much the Jays can do right now with the Manoah situation other than manage it at the big league level as best they can until either he’s ready to come back, or figure out a trade to bring someone in - though the likelihood of that at this point of the season is extremely unlikely. Right now I’m sure Atkins is sacrificing any barnyard fowl or ruminant he can get his hands on hoping Manoah figures it out and quick. Even Ryu won’t be ready until August at the earliest.

    Sure, but he’s facing a AAA team it’s a lot harder to hit a bad centre cut 97+ for a HR than a bad hanging slider…just frustrating to watch
