To recap, Chappy and DDG... because i think the point is getting muddied... Nobody is saying Happ's deal is "bad". Nobidy is going to put $/WAR under $5m, even on the conservative side. So theres no argument about whether Happ is "worth" the deal. So everyone agrees on that. It just doesnt make sense for this team when the jays appear to be stuck in the mud with their payroll. Where you guys are clearly wrong is suggesting the other guys are "lottery tickets" when in fact they are projected to provide the same value. So its actually like betting on one team or another in a sports game with the spread. Except youre laying out $5m to win $5m in Happs case.. Or youre betting $500k to win $5m with the other guys.. Pretty obvious choice imo

I will just go with what BTS said.. Its not even about Wojo.. I just dont see point paying guy $5+m when you can get same production or better fir $500k

But what are we comparing him to? A guy thats been a 1 WAR guy on average over the last 4-5 seasons. Save me the money and give me Wojo and i will hope he gives 1 WAR at literally 1/10 the cost

How's the sushi in TO? That could be big factor. If thats a fail the only real choice is to sign him to a 20year deal (i dont think 15 goes far enough) and offer him a front office position after that (hope the sarcasm is obvious but you never know) -
Im fairness, hes already had a belly-full of humble pie being one of worst hitters in bb the last few seasons, Who cares where he ends up next. Seems Uncle Tom'ish enough to have been smart with his $. Dont feel any pity for him, hes ok

I have zero empathy for the HOU franchise. I see it as one of worst orgs in pro sports as a business model. I know theres many prospect buffs on here that disagree.. But to me, when youre in one of the biggest cities in US in a sport state.. Its s***** business to bleed the s*** out of the mlb welfare system and put an absolute garbage product on the field in name of rebuild..actually looks like theyre starting to understand that

Ha. Yeah i should be hunting for ass. The young girls just want to f***.,lol.. Cant talk marriage.. In terms of real hunting..as someone said, depends if yiure doing it to feel like badass or eat it. Personally i was always dead set against it but a couple years ago i moved into my house on 6 acres of woods..get all sorts of animals in my yard..and theres frwquently a pack of turkeys and one day i was looking out my window thinking "i wouldnt mind eating one on those f***ers for dinner tonight".. I dont think i could do the skinning and all that though to make it oven ready

Im obviously outing myself as an old timer..but ive never been more excited with a guy during his yeats in the minors as i was with CD. Also never been more excited about a mlb start than his April.. Obviously numbers wise it pales to BL's start but meaningless games late season are a different breed imo

Yeah 1b defense is pretty much the least important spot on the field, is it not? I mean if someone provided GG defense thats obviously a plus..that said..Delgado's O numbers are just a little shy of spectacular in the era. I think he comes up short, I also dont tjink its right to assume whos clean and who isnt. Bagwell is apparently also being kept out fof PED "rumors". To say Delgado or even Frank Thomas didnt take for anything 100% fact is a crock. Also people will say FT was naturally big..but not all steroids, especially "athlete", ones are designed to make you bigger

Yeah Jays clearly..well apparently wont directly be benefitting from this..but..its a win for them in that more baseball is being introduced into the country.. Well..should be good..hopefully the new fans of Jays outweigh people liking other teams once they see more of bb and realize how bad jays suck..lol Im curious to know jays "deal" with rogers and what the franchise "gets" for their tv deal... Really as long as theyre spending $150m though..dont tjink fans cam gripe on their shady accounting though
