Jim, I’m always open to being educated on any subject. Especially one like this where my thoughts aren’t based on facts. However, I actually critique articles I read when trying to form an opinion. In this case your poll is based on 2000 patients under 50 (with absolutely no breakdown of age groups)! That had heart attacks. Going from 30-50 is a pretty big difference Jim and nothing is given in terms of specifics to justify your conclusions on the most likely cause when a 30yo dies from a heart attack. If you care enough to look it up other places, I’ll be happy to read it

I should mention that time 7 years ago I didn’t have much in the way of a connection so I was getting 3rd rate stuff. Good thing because if it was good it would’ve been harder to give up lol

If an otherwise healthy 30yo dies of a heart attack, I’d wager it’s statistically more likely it was from drugs rather than some rare undetected heart defect. Though the latter does happen of course And no, I don’t do drugs. I was hooked on “e” all through my college years and it did a number on my brain. If I could take it back, I would. I did love coke too but it’s an expensive habit. I went through a rough patch like 7 years ago or something and had a nice little coke run to get me through but that was last time.

Yeah, that’s the point. It will be both sides failure. I just don’t get when someone is like “f***ing greedy owners” but overlook the fact the players position is being driven by the higher-paid players who even with reduced salary stand to make more in a few months playing baseball than the average person makes in two or 3 lifetimes. -
Personally I don’t see much difference between people who hate owners and the people that complain that athletes make millions of dollars while teachers, police, etc make nothing. I don’t get it when they take one side and not the other lol

Just saying cocktail of drugs for instance would be the more likely explanation but of course sometimes it really is a rare heart defect I had a friend that died at 21 from a heart attack that was a combo of coke, roids, and other stuff

Yeah I live in a smaller city they has a really nice rookie ball stadium and a really solid following. I doubt they’d just want to roll over

Agreed. While he’s right I’m sure some players will get it, just like the NBA, the professional athletes will recover in short order. Even non-essential businesses are opening back up now. It’s a laughable position really

Are the players even challenging the issue of no pay during a national emergency? You’d think as soon as the checks stopped, they would’ve challenged it immediately in court if that was their intention

I just read this. He’s pretty tone deaf apparently. At least the owners aren’t publicly crying poverty. I mean Snell, who isn’t even overpaid, would still make more in half season than many people make in a lifetime and he’s talking about how he has to go out and risk his life lol. What about the ppl that do that everyday, at a much higher risk, for $10/hr? I mean, I actually get the players side on things but it should prob be framed different

Yeah, agreed. I’m a see-both-sides guy too but as you said, you’re talking about a national emergency. This isn’t a matter of whether the owners make more or less than projected during a season. If they were operating the same as always and then tried to talk about revenue split, then yeah I’d understand the players side more. But you’re talking about playing in front of no fans and still incurring all the costs of maintaining a staff and all the expenses around running an mlb team. For teams without a super lucrative tv deal, there prob wouldn’t be much incentive to play games if you’re going to lose money. So this thing is probably dead in the water unfortunately, as reported at least
