  1. Answer my PM. I’m like teenage chick waiting for the guy to text
  2. It was just me stirring up trouble, that wasn’t my intention. Just wanted to say my piece to Boxy and I did. I know you don’t like me but I didn’t say anything untrue and I’ve always had respect for the board. Anyways I’m done and you can ban me if I have any posts that don’t talk about baseball. I’ll probably just be trolling the fantasy threads
  3. “Yes, you put a lot of effort into your response. Have you considered that the reason I said "thank god" is because I'm aware that my own weaknesses goad me into undesirable interactions? Did you bother to clarify? And yeah, I'm not very interested in being analyzed by a psychopath. Go play your little game on someone else” Fair enough response actually. It’s not a game though, I’m genuinely pissed as I enjoyed those debates. As I said, I regret when I made comments outside the threads and for any part I played. I’ll still probably monitor fantasy threads now and again.
  4. I was just checking on comments made and Boxy’s “thank god” was just so ridiculous I couldn’t let it go lol
  5. Outside of Boxy, L54 is probably the only other person I can think of that showed genuine vitriol towards libs But he seems like the kinda guy that wouldve respected firmer rules
  6. It’s important that someone calls him out so when 2 weeks pass and things cool down and he starts slipping in personal attacks people can see it for what it is. Or maybe he can self-reflect for real this time. The post is good for him though. Peace out bitches. I’ll see if CNN has a board lol. I enjoy discussing current events with the other viewpoint actually. It’s boring when it’s just a big circle jerk
  7. * Mods please allow time for Boxy to read this takedown. This thread is away from the main threads and is made up of long time posters discussing issues the board has had and this is relevant to that. So I ask the courts to allow for argument* LOL. Is this real life??! You're literally the only reason all this happened. I'm not quitting the board because I'm pouting. I just genuinely enjoyed coming here and having intelligent debate with intelligent guys. It was a good way to occasionally break up the monotony of the work day. I'm sad I wont be able to anymore but I'm clearly the guy that is attached to a tree that's about to be bulldozed that nobody cares about. And that's fine. I do regret any part I had in this action as like with Spanky, all my shots about libs and all that was in good fun and I actually enjoyed conversing with all those guys. I wouldn't have wasted my time coming here if that wasn't the case. I think almost all the offenders fall into the same category. Everyone can clearly concede it went to the far but honestly there was another alternative, which was to actually moderate the board and be ready to hand out bans and lifetime bans as needed. I think this would've worked for sure and I know it would've kept me in line. But there was going to be a Boxy problem and the mods knew it. You've proven time and again that a ban is just going to keep you in line for a short period of time, you come back with a grand speech about self-reflecting and you'll be better and then you slip back into it in a short period of time. You're the only internet bully on here that I can think of. You're an immature, insecure, self-loathing internet prick/bully. You cant even afford a $50 video game yet you look down on clearly intelligent guys (like they have degrees and good jobs only because they vote Hillary) like MAx/Jim and call them stupid and retards because they have a different viewpoint. But how can the mods moderate if they're unwilling to take the proper action again the A1 offender? So rather than be faced with the scenario where they may have to hand a lifetime ban to their good friend, they just deleted all the threads. IT's like the teacher that fails to control/discipline a kid and instead punishes the whole class because it's easier. You think we're alike because we agree on 90% of topics but that just means we both wax conservative. I have an arguing style that can turn people off for sure but I don't have insecurity issues where I consider myself better than anyone and I don't need to belittle someone to justify my own existence. I know you hate the nickel booth shrink routine but you're just such a textbook case, even Lucy could nail it. I have my issues irl but at least I can acknowledge them. I think having good OT discussions was healthy for the board. A lot of mlb boards are graveyards and I think part of this reason the board even made it tp this point was it was more than just guys sharing stats. So good job ruing that part of the board.
  8. No, seriously. I won’t. It’s not a pouting thing. I just mostly enjoyed the board for the OT stuff. I was always respectful when debating for the most part
  9. Want to keep Yahoo basketball too
  10. Well I should say I’m signing off once I know there’s no issue with this and someone will alert me on draft. I know after this one it should be automatic on Fantrax? Definitely want to keep the fantasy leagues. I think actually bunch of other ppl don’t post as well
  11. I get it. Don’t agree but can respect the direction you guys are going. I’m signing off and retiring from the board but will still be involved with the leagues. Spanky (or someone) if you would be so kind sir to email me when I’m up and if someone can email the google Doc. Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone
  12. What’s changed? I feel like you’d know more than me on this but here’s first google article I found: https://wsspaper.com/50084/sports/sneaker-wars/
  13. Let me be racist for a minute and tell you what a black parent in the inner city wants. To get paid now. Like their rent paid or a new car. Basketball can do that for a 15yo kids that looks like an NBA prospect. Even players to a lesser degree are seeing real money now, like free sneakers and Nike gear. Tangible stuff. Along with travel fees paid You can spend money on marketing all you want, Mookie Betts telling you to drink milk to be like him one day...but the $ and cultural impact of basketball in the inner cities will always dominate.
  14. You answered yourself. It changed from Mickey Mantle playing in the sandlots to the costly highly competitive travel baseball it is now. It’s even different from 20+ years ago when I was in school. Kids not playing in highly competitive travel ball after little league are left behind. There’s no money in baseball for that. The shoes companies and AAU travel teams in basketball aren’t doing it as a public service. It’s a business.
  15. Or is it blacks right to dominate baseball like other sports?
  16. As someone mentioned, if US is like 13% black and 8% play MLB where is the huge disparity/injustice to warrant spending hundreds of millions every year on one demographic to the detriment of others
  17. Admittedly you can skimp of some costs like bat/glove but the biggest costs for travel baseball are the travel team fee and the time/cost associated with said travel team. Good AAU basketball teams are typically sponsored by the sneaker compiles and all the burdens are off the parent. Time and money. Also, it’s not proven of course but there’s evidence kids in their teens are getting more than just free travel teams. They’re getting paid or at least things besides just the team fee. Never going to find that in baseball Really basketball aau is a business like Latino baseball. You could cut costs and play baseball Latino style but who is going to cover all the costs/pay the kids with the hope of a payout at the end? Nobody in the US for baseball
  18. I think basically the lazy insinuation is baseball is racist and that’s why there’s only 8% black people. Which is obviously ridiculous. If you look at it objectively, the only thing you can come up with is it’s not pushed as hard in youth sports, especially in poor inner-city locations. But unlike basketball, there’s generally no sponsors for grass roots baseball. Only when you get towards the national level. Outside of that though you’re going to have to front all the travel team expenses. The good bats/gloves are $200-500 nowadays, along with the time required in you want to be an involved parent with that. Which is obviously crucial on the younger teams. Decent Fields are obviously also not easy to come by in inner cities. Combine that with baseball is the less cool sport with kids, I don’t think anything will change. Blacks in the suburbs will continue to get the same chances as any other group
  19. Looks like I have a least favorite player now
  20. My bad. Was a baseball topic but I did slip in a Jim/Max political swipe.
  21. I’m not wishing it happens as I don’t want the season to be cxl’d. Jim and Max will post gleefully if it does happen “See?..See?.. Told you”... Family of hypothetical dead guy would prefer In hindsight if someone was an ******* and told their fat out of shape loved one that they needed to stay home
  22. Hey if something like that happens and season is cxl’d I’m going to bump the post
  23. Everyone agrees if someone gets really sick or dies it’s all over and if you take those people out of the equation the chances are about zip that happens Like the season should end because some fat ass 67yo umpire that can’t even walk up stairs dies
  24. Other than players, pretty much everything else is easily replaceable including managers. Not like they’re a football HC that matters. Umpires could use an ego check, especially the old ones. I don’t see why announcers couldn’t continue though
