I’m sure it’d been posted but the Twins actually aren’t allowing some 65+ yo coaches to join the team. Though it’s well-noted that I believe the danger of the virus is overblown... certain groups are actually vulnerable and I think this should be done across the board. Look at a combo of age and health history and hold out the people like 65+ and fat

Wouldn’t they be a little less blatant about it? Like maybe hold him out a few weeks to “work on things” or something. If they brought him up right after 1 week that’s gotta put a bad taste in his mouth but that’s the business I guess

I just came across this article and they’re scoring it as a victory for Bauer but Schilling had the better bombs from what I see. Idk. Guess it depends when you mean. But say you’re rooting for your home team and they score a run(s) to tie the game in bottom of 9th or 10th, crowd going crazy. Ok, let’s call it a tie and go home. Idk Happens sometimes in youth sports when there’s time limits and it sucks balls

Or they could walk off on a hit. A sac fly or wild pitch could also be very climatic if there’s a play at the plate. And if there is no auto runner the game is still just as likely to end in an anti-climatic way

Maybe true but i think both play a part in the thinking. If a game goes to the 12th inning, it’s easier to digest if there was action in 10th and 11th. If there’s no runners and innings are 1-2-3, only the die hards are still invested at that point. But yeah, I agree the main reason is to end it quickly but if that was only reason you’d just call it a tie after X amount of innings.

Guys is scoring position extra innings is intrigue and excitement really. Doesn’t matter how they come home

Takes away from the purity of the game sure but i think a lot of fans and players would be ok with it once they get used to it. I’d think the people that love the 15 inning games are the minority. I’m used to seeing it in competitive travel ball
