I think if you gave Boni a bit more time to get used to how to play balls off the turf early in the season, he would have actually been good defensively. It was his errors that killed him. He got to balls that not a lot of second basemen get too and knocked them down. -

Are pinch runners not useful? What about guys who can play multiple positions? In that sense Bonerface was useful. Obviously when he started for weeks at a time, it was apparent that he was a below average player. -

Ya Bonerface was useful and Derosa was too. Without Derosa we might have had to watch Izturis or Laroche or some s***** peice of s*** play third while Lawrie was out. As for Boner, he was a hell of a pinch runner and and while he wasn't even an average offensive player, he atleast made you a bit excited when he hit the ball hard, you knew he had a chance to end up at third. -

Ughh im so sick of hearing people say it takes 5-7 years for prospects to develop. Just shows how out of touch they are. Most first rounders make the big leagues after like 1-4 years. -

The fielding bible guys don't use numbers do they? Don't they just watch all the plays and determine if the play was below average, average or above average?

Ya, thinking about it more, even if the prospect was like a top 5 from their farm, its still probably isn't that good of a trade. Kinsler isn't really an asset at this point considering his contract vs EE's. Kinsler on turf probably makes him more prone for injury too...
