Hyman succumbs to injury, and what does Babcock do? Oh let's promote offensive black hole Leo Komarov to the top line because reasons. Nylander proceeds to set him up with a glorious grade A opportunity that could have tied the game up, but he completely whiffs on it. You can't make this s*** up lol.
  5. I never traded nor dropped him, so he should be listed on the google doc.

Dermott has really injected some much needed energy into this team. The guy looks incredible with his elite skating ability and excellent on ice awareness. Looks like the Leafs have a gem with him.

Kasperi Kapanen should not be toiling away on the Marlies. He should immediately replace one of Martin/Komarov in the lineup.

That goal by Marner was incredible. To have the patience to pull off that move under pressure is astounding.

Can Babcock please end his infatuation for playing grinders in a 3 vs 3 sudden death situation? It's an egregious decision to even ice the likes of Komarov and Hyman in that setting.

Edmundson with textbook interference on Matthews, but of course the stripes look the other way.

It would be nice if Babcock didn't have such a hard on for Roman Polak. Dermott should be a fixture in the lineup.

Not sure what Rielly was thinking with that stretch pass. You're up by 1 with under 4 minutes to play and you have no immediate pressure on you. Make the safe play and carry it out to the red line.

Babcock can start by not playing that pylon Polak anymore. Then he can move Komarov to the fourth line, and stop handcuffing his best offensive weapons. This team has an abundance of speed and skill, but they've resorted to a a boring and ineffective dump and chase brand of hockey.

I don't understand Babcock's fixation with Polak, but it needs to end. Carrick or anyone on the Marlies is better than that pylon. Once Matthews comes back, just staple Nylander back on his wing and put Hyman in a role more suited to his strengths (3rd line checking with top PK duties). Right now the breakouts are what's really ailing this team. The only way they know how to breakout is ringing the puck on the boards/flipping it out and hoping that they gain possession in the neutral zone. Outside of Rielly, most of the defense has been disappointing. Gardiner and Zaitsev need to step up and play like they're capable of playing. All that being said, it's impressive that they have the record they do despite the fact that they haven't played well at all over the past month worth of games.

Why does Babcock insist on flanking his franchise player with grinders all the time?

LMAO Kris Russell with the game winning own goal.

They've looked atrocious at even strength for the last month or so for the exception of maybe one or two games.
  18. Yeah I was at that game and the atmosphere was incredible. Definitely one of the more fun and exciting games I've been to at the RC.
  19. f*** I just saw this now and I'm completely heartbroken. I share the same sentiments as the rest of you, and like a good portion of you guys, I grew up watching the Jays when Doc was the main attraction. RIP Doc

No reason Martin should be in the lineup over Leivo. Leivo is obviously the more skilled player, and he gives you another option on special teams. Also while everyone was having trouble penetrating Ottawa's neutral zone trap, Nylander was cutting through it with ease. His transition game, and zone entries are breathtaking.
  21. They have so many better options, but Dusty!
