Problem with statcast right now is the announcers have no idea what to do with it. They just say what the spin rate, exit velocity, and route efficiency are. I don't want to know what the route efficiency is when a guy makes a great catch - I want to know how rare the catch is relative to other outfielders considering first step, range, and efficiency.

Did Iwakuma decline? Looks like BP this year off of him. Last year he looked like Tanaka-lite.

He's not necessarily wrong but there are certainly other ways to frame what happened. The way Archer says it, "a couple of their guys" vs "our franchise player", you'd think he hit Goins and Tolleson with changeups. If you're going to get hit intentionally, Marco Estrada is one of the most batter-friendly guys to do it. In classic Longoria fashion he managed to get hit right on the hip bone. Night and day relative to Herrera and Ventura chucking 100mph fastballs at Lawrie's upper body. That was insane.

My Cup Runneth Over - DeSclafani, Graveman, and Wojciechowski all starting for other MLB teams today. Meanwhile, as Sanchez and Norris struggle, the Blue Jays have to be concerned about their current lack of SP depth.
