  1. Until he keeps his hands quiet and back where they only need to come forward a second before the pitch is thrown,he'll fail at the MLB level, guaranteed.
  2. Swallow half his salary and get him out of here. There has to be a team in the NL that will take on half his salary and use him as a back of the rotation type.
  3. Let's assume Jansen was brought in and he got out of the inning. Let's say we score a run and then Lincoln is ran out there for the save opportunity. Regardless of the outcome, most baseball people would be laughing at Gibby prior to the inning starting. Managers will not use their closers in a tie game on the road because of the fear of a blown save occurring from the non closer, especially the likes of Lincoln. Yes Cecil was also available. Mathematically over a larger sample size, you will lose more often when using your closer on the road in a tie game.
  4. Really? I can hear the ice cracking under your feet bro. Have a nice trip.
  5. Giving up 2 ER in 6 innings is getting destroyed? Holy f***.
  6. Would you as a manager even remotely assume Lincoln would go on to walk two batters in a row? C'mon
  7. He's right on this one. You don't use your closer in a tie game on the road.
  8. That's all hindsight. At the time of the Marlins trade our starting staff projected to be.. Morrow JJ Buehrle Romero FA/Happ I think most of us were comfortable going with that at the time, considering the shambles our staff was in before the Marlins trade. We all thought our top four would be solid and would carry a mediocre #5.
  9. Why are sounding like we can't have both Sanchez and Syndergaard? Of course Sanchez has the make up. I'm just saying the future of our staff would be looking bright with both of them, along with Hutchison,Osuna and hopefully Drabek. Stock piling good young starters was smart on AA's part,as they all won't pan out. d'Arnaud doesn't project well at 1B ? Yes you may lose a bit of power there, but if there is plenty of power in the other parts of the line up,it's fine. What's wrong with .280 / .340 15-20 HR type at 1B ? I mean, that's what he's projected to do. Dickey wasn't worth the talent given up,especially after the Marlins trade.
  10. Agreed, but Noah has the make up to be a quality starter in the bigs. d'Arnaud is athletic enough to convert him to 1B to negate his history of leg injuries. This trade could be bad,i mean Michael Young for Loaiza bad or worse.
  11. Syndergaard with another excellent start tonight and looking good so far this year.
  12. Is Lawrie the good young player on the pro roster that you are referring to? Yeah, this team is f***ed.
  13. Yup. What pisses me off even more is the laid back lack of urgency tone in his voice thinking everything will be ok. What a stooge.
  14. On a side note, Negrych was 2-5 tonight with another double (13th ). Now hitting .427 / .477 / .677 OPS 1.154 Boni down,Negrych up anytime now AA. Please and thank you.
  15. Well i think it's safe to say that if JPA was behind the plate, Longoria scores and we'd be down.
  16. It's funny regarding his rookie year. Most MLB pitchers feed right handed hitting rookies a good diet of breaking balls, because we all know the most glaring difference between minor league pitching vs MLB pitching,is the quality of breaking stuff. Lawrie was sort of a backwards case, where he has an odd combination of seeing breaking balls better than the average rookie and the slower speed of the breaking ball allows for his hands to be not as perfect with his timing. Now,it appears that he is behind a good fastball the majority of the time, even in a hitter's count and the league has adjusted. His hands are way too busy.
  17. This guy really needs to keep his hands quiet at the plate. With his current approach his timing has to be perfect, where his hands are coming forward as the ball is roughly half way to home plate. Why create such a complex approach? For the most part he's late on everything (fastballs),because of the complexity as to where his hands are as the ball travels to the plate. Nothing wrong with waggling the bat ,but his hands should be still and in a position where they just have to come forward as the pitch is thrown. When his timing is on,he has shown to be effective. Unfortunately that's not the case for the most part. I can't believe Mottolla hasn't addressed this,or maybe he did and Brett isn't comfortable any other way. This could be the case given his demeanor. Keep it simple stupid.
  18. For starters,AA should call up Thole and Negrych and send Bonifacio and Machete to Buffalo(not sure if they have options or not). Although they aren't starters, they both are better options and we get rid of Boni's stupidity. I don't understand why we are paying Thole $500,000 more than Machete, who is clearly the better option,to play in Buffalo. AA seems lost right now. Time to swallow his pride and do what is right for the team.
  19. AA needs to clean this mess up asap and bring some stability to this team.
