    It sort of does.. In a low scoring game, Gibby rolled the dice that Smoak would launch a fly ball to left field. The added OF depth allows for this.

    Yeah but what message does this send to Buehrle? He's been grinding it out all year and then you tell him he's being bumped from a huge start in favor for a second year pitcher making his third start from an injury? Could cause problems, plus it's not guaranteed Buehrle gets rocked in NY. I think he can give us a 6IP 3ER type start. Edit.. I would start Navarro behind the plate with Buehrle on Saturday.

    If Stroman can get in 4-5 starts before the end of the season, i think that will be enough seasoning to make him our #2 heading into the playoffs. That being said, i'm not sure if it's wise to start him this Saturday in NY this early in his return. I think i would push his first start to Tuesday in Atlanta and go from there. He's more valuable as a starter in the stretch run and in the playoffs.

    I'd let Stroman make a start in NY. If anything it will give them a different look, besides Hutch is horrible (especially on the road and Buehrle is clearly not the same).

    No, he's right. The Jays have a better record with Goins vs Travis way before the trades.

    As of right now, Goins is a better starting middle infield option for over half the teams in the NL. No matter what happens with the Jays, Goins will be employed in the MLB for the next 8-10 years (on a 25 man roster). AA would be foolish to include him in any trades, as he's a valuable piece in spelling Tulo and Travis and providing overall solid depth. Travis' offensive talent and potential overrides the defensive upgrade Goins provides, although if Goins continues to improve offensively, the difference will squeeze. It's a good problem to have if that does happen.

    I'm surprised Bautista didn't hit in that situation and then bring Carrera in to pinch run if he gets on or just play RF in the ninth. I thought Carrera came in on defense in the top of the eighth. Not using Pompey is also f***ed up. Osuna in a blowout with a game tomorrow. Gibby is a real piece of work.
