  1. It's because he leaned over into the field of play. If he caught that standing straight up,he'd be ok. It's a tough one though, he shouldn't get kicked out.
  2. This was geared mainly to Thole.
  3. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 WE WON THE CALL only against the Rays
  4. That's a HR!! His glove brought it down !!
  5. WTF ?? How about a replay mother f***er?!
  6. Yeah that was dumb, ego driven for sure. But let's be serious, Kerm would have stolen second base easily off the Dickey / Thole battery.
  7. Jesus, wtf is your problem? You don't always have to come off like you're the superior intellect all the time. Why was wrong with my comment regarding hitting coaches looking for patterns and relaying this information to the hitters? Please explain.
  8. Don't worry about Buck, the coaches don't need to worry about noticing patterns, the players will figure it out.
  9. So then why the f*** do teams employ hitting coaches? Sometimes they need to be reminded.
  10. I know it's easier said than done, but it appears Smyle is only using his fastball away and up, while his slider and breaking ball are being used inside. I would look away for a heater next inning and go the other way and lay off anything inside.
  11. The pen is pretty deep though. If Chavez or Floyd would reach a pitch count in the 15-20 range, the chances of a save situation presenting itself would be high. In that case, Osuna would have been brought in and the the 15-20 pitches wouldn't necessarily mean you wouldn't be able to use that pitcher tomorrow to face one or two batters. Worse case, he isn't available until Wednesday. I think Gibby needs to maximize the value of this pen in order to shelter the starters throughout the season. The plan is to play in October again.
  12. You're right in the fact he was on a short leash and i guess the extra six pitches doesn't make a difference. I'm just stating i personally would think it would have been an overall better decision to end his night after 8 innings on a high. If the score was within three runs going into the ninth, would Gibby send Stroman back out? You know Osuna would have started the ninth in that scenario, so bringing out Chavez/Floyd to start the ninth with a 5-1 lead would constitute the same line of thinking imo.
  13. Pretty hard to deny this, but i do think he'll contribute with some timely hitting this season. He seems to be lunging a bit at the moment, he'll adjust, although repeating what he did last year should not be expected.
  14. Wat.. So if his pitch count was at 75 through 4 innings and threw 34 for the next 4, he should be brought back out regardless? I know he was rolling, but you have to think long term and manage for the whole season. The fact that the game seemed to be in a position for a high percentage win and it's early in the year, a manager should carefully consider tacking on an additional 10-15 pitches on an already taxed 92 pitch arm, especially with a solid pen.
  15. since he absolutely and inarguably sucks at defense Good start today though.
  16. The point is he didn't pitch much last year and doesn't have a full season under his belt. "Only one injury".. LOL
  17. Nice game, so nice to have the Blue Jays back. I'm already dreading this Thursday.
  18. It's a long season and with a four run lead combined with our solid pen, why have Stroman throw 100 pitches in his first start coming off an injury plagued season?
  19. Chavez should have started the inning. It's Stroman's first start, why push him, especially in a year where his innings may have to be monitored somewhat.
