Probably not in his first full year but after that i'd say yes, or close to it.

Pompey would add more offensive value right now over Pillar. Great approach, pitch recognition, short quick swing from a switch hitter who will post a very respectable OBP while causing havoc on the base paths. Pompey had some issues last year but seems to be a lot more confident now. Shapiro may even trade for another another OF who can play CF. Who knows?

His bat in the line up every day is a major issue. I'd rather have Pompey in there every day over Pillar. The slight defense you lose is not relevant when you gain everywhere else.

I think Shapiro will look for an offensive approach. Look for more contact types in the line up next year and possibly a Jacoby pink slip.
