I'm not totally against this theory. Making as much money is the bottom line and the league will clearly make more money with the Yankees and the Red Sox in the post season.

I respectfully disagree. The swipe of the glove was fractions of a second early and Valera’s arm appears to have just got under the tag as he swiped. The hanging rawhide may have brushed his arm, but not the glove. It doesn't look like his glove showed any signs of resistance if it hit his arm, unless it just barely brushed him. Bottom line is that the call on the field was safe and there is no way what we saw provided anything 100% conclusive to overturn the call on the field.

If Charlie was willing to bunt up 1-0, why not keep it on 1-1? The bunt shouldn't have been on in the first place and Espinal would be up 2-0, but since Charlie had it on up 1-0, it doesn't make much sense to take it off 1-1 on a pitch that did not display a lack of fundamentals from Espinal.
