    I was reading it has something to do with the humidor situation. MLB is trying to implement a standardized humidity for baseballs but effectively deadened the ball somehow in the process.

    I just don’t see Cimber as the most deserving guy. Why NOT the starter? Why do we have a stupid stipulation that the game can’t be tied when the starter comes out for him to get the win? What the hell did Cimber or Merryweather do to deserve a win over what Berrios did? Absof***inglutely nothing. W/L for pitchers isn’t just “not perfect”, its a dumb f***ing stat that means next to nothing.

    Maybe yeah. The organization is flush with infield talent and if Biggio doesn’t show something soon he doesn’t really have a spot on this team.

    And what’s even worse, is that if Cimber had actually got 3 Ks and allowed no runs to score, Berrios would have gotten the win. How does that even make any sense??

    Like some others have suggested here, I think he needs to go back to AAA for a month. He’s just got too much pressure to perform and he’s seeing guys like Espinal and Tapia take his job every time they come up with a big hit or nice defensive play. Its actually crazy how his abilities seem to have completely taken a nosedive since he was made the everyday third baseman at the start of 2021. He just hasn’t looked right at all. I still think there’s an above average 2nd baseman in there. Might take a trip to AAA, might take a change of scenery.

    There just needs to be a new stat created/highlighted that shows “inherited runs scored”. Because sure Cimber got the W, and technically he had 0 ER and only 1 hit given up. But he actually allowed both runners on base to score. His box score line looks very clean but he actually didn’t do that great of a job. And that’s the issue with pitcher wins. Win shoud go to Berrios IMO but I know that’s not how the stat works.

    Its the balls hit right at him that give him most trouble it seems. He’s great when he’s moving, especially to his arm side

    Yeah he’s been extremely overused already and I think it’s showing. He did not look good against the Redsox and Astros (Sunday)
