You forgot the fact that they’re .500 too. They’d be last place in our division. Embarrassing. MLB needs a shakeup -
Wins and losses for the Blue Jays, at the all-star break!

So you’re saying there’s a chance -
Kirk being slow probably has as much to do with his legs being 1 foot long as with his weight. Dude is just built like a bowling ball
-
Varsho also scored from 1st on the double which not many players on the roster could do. Kirk is a problem. He’s turned into mostly a singles hitter and his base running is absolute dogshit. Terrible combo.
-
Im almost glad Kirk got thrown out on the bases before Lukes’ double. Not sure he would have scored from 2nd there lol. Dude has to be the worst base runner in the majors

holy s*** lol

KK back to being absolutely terrible with the bat... sigh

Average velo 97? https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2023-futures-game-statcast-leaders/

Yosver Zulueta pitched in the futures game Saturday. Gave up 1 hit and 1 run but got 2 Ks. Both looking. The only 2 outs he got. Also they used the challenge/robo-ump system and both Ks from Zulueta were challenged but upheld.
-
I’d almost think about starting Varsho at C once a week over Kirk at this point. That could be a way to get another bat in LF and lengthen the lineup a bit.
-
I agree the D is excellent, just his current bat cannot play in LF. He’s gotta pick it up
-
If he hits better (above 100wRC+) then its fine for LF. If not…. yeah he should be playing CF. He’s running out of time this year to show he has something in the bat
-
I didn’t say they suck? I said they’re underperforming
-
I’ve definitely heard about the “hit for contact” approach being preached in the org… idk if it comes from Martinez or higher up. Heard it a few times from JS in post-game interviews.

General Blue Jays Discussion Thread (2023)

The rest days don’t line up for him to pitch Tuesday. And probably would rather spend time at home with the kids. Good for him -
Sucks here when we lose

Jarren Duran is on absolute fire
-
I was talking about it before…. Like weeks ago. Idk im just afraid of the whole 2021 scenario again. Charlie should have been fired for wasting that year and things should have changed but we didn’t do anything. They spun it as “oh look we’re ahead of the rebuild schedule”. This team has consistently underperformed the past 3-4 years and it’s upsetting. I’ll point to the coaching staff since that’s been the main constant.
-
Wow didn’t realize it was that long. Too many guys seem entrenched here, Walker included. I want whoever the new manager is to be able to select their own coaches. Fresh start. New staff.
-
Embarrassing
-
Im just sick of the entire coaching staff. Need to clean house next year
-
Seems like a mistake for the Tigers to switch here but ok
-
Agree with this, but it won’t happen until Atkins is gone

Gausman getting hit hard so far
