Hoffman, Dominguez, Varland, Little fit that bill IMO, they’re just all s***ing the bed at the same time.
But yeah too late now to stack the bullpen for a doomsday scenario like we are witnessing
I don't think i said that previously man, i said I wanted Schneider gone. Last year was a blip and i was onboard with giving it one last run with the Bo/Vlad core this year.
My issue is with this front office always doing just enough to be good and not great. If we waste another good team this year because they refused to move prospects at the deadline, im over these guys.
Thats been our problem with Schneider all along. Much of that blame lies with the front office. We’ve seen multiple times (even in big playoff games) that he has zero feel for the game and the “pre-game playbook” is king, yet the front office continues to back him.
He should have been fired after the Seattle 8-1 blown game. Bullpen mismanagement and not using JBJ who was literally acquired to be a defensive replacement. Subbing Tapia for Merrifield with a 8-1 lead and JBJ on the bench is an instantly fireable offense IMO but the front office continues to back him.
Yeah end of the day, even if they somehow get the bye to the ALDS they won’t win a series with the bullpen in its current state. Our relievers need to turn it around or homefield advantage and a longer series wont matter at all.
They still haven’t figured it out even after leaving Cleveland in 2016 and seeing what happened with Andrew Miller. Or how we missed a playoff spot in 2021 because of the bullpen. Or how we choked the 2022 playoffs. Or how we never improved the offense in 2023 and lost 2 close games in the playoffs.
Yeah bigger picture decisions like this have been a problem. Plus not doing more at the deadline. The day-to-day decisions of JS are the least of the team’s problems IMO.
