  1. Not true.
  2. Bryce Trout
  3. If my sources are correct: all the weight.
  4. Still eagerly anticipating MOOGY projections.
  5. 29, well above average true talent catchers? Yah.... http://www.fangraphs.com/projections.aspx?pos=c&stats=bat&type=oliver&team=0&players=0
  6. As a Bogaerts dynasty owner the idea of that does make my pants tighten.
  7. Really though, projections more than 2 years our are all but useless. Uncertainty grows to levels where you might as well just project everyone to be average. Pretty sure what Oliver is doing here is very wrong. I feel like he's feeding his 5th year projection his 2nd 3rd and 4th year projection and treating it like it's true past data. You can't do that.
  8. Yah, that's definitely better. But I think even with Shields' a 3 yr weighted avg regressed properly would take him to around 200 innings. Maybe slightly under. Lol @ 230 IP.
  9. RTTM, aging. Almost no pitcher should be projected for 200 innings.
  10. Remaining agnostic on playing time is such a cop out.
  11. So they've projected every position player at 600 PAs? That's stupid/lazy.
  12. Oliver loves it some Giancarlo.
  13. Walker + Paxton + Ackley + C prospect
  14. Concern? More like an opportunity for a smart team to take advantage of those fooled by randomness.
  15. Ban
  16. I have to admit, 2 days ago I probably would have felt the same way. But after the Fister trade happened and I really started to look at his numbers I came to realize I was definitely underrating him. He's really good. Gun to my head I still take Price (talent alone I'm speaking of) but it's really not a big gap at all.
  17. Dan Szymborski ‏@DSzymborski18h ZiPS has Fister projected in WAS next 2 years at 7.9 WAR. ZiPS projects David Price in WAS next 2 years at 8.5 WAR. Dan Szymborski ‏@DSzymborski18h So essentially, at least according to ZiPS, Nats get a pitcher 3 runs a year worse than David Price for *much* less than Price would cost.
  18. It's not just JFAs' stat that thinks they're near equivalents.
  19. Basing any sort of argument off of a term without any real definition is far more ridiculous.
  20. The obsequious lapdog is at it again I see. You were being completely ridiculous using some nebulous definition of an ace as the basis for your argument. The facts are that Fister has been a top 10 pitcher over the past 3 years and projects to be in the top 20 by both Steamer and ZIPs. Whether that means he's an "Ace" is highly subjective and pretty irrelevant.
