  1. Apparently not...
  2. So in other words, use the ignore feature in lieu of issuing bans. Ok, then why wasn't that enough in NJH's case? If someone doesn't like the occasional pithy quip, can't they just ignore him?
  3. I've never seen, heard of or participated in a real world organization where everyone is treated on a level playing field. To think that structure should work best here is fairly quixotic.

I'd like to see the logic outlining how that doesn't deserve at least a temp ban if NJH's did.
  5. That's the biggest problem. But if it was only ever intended to be a one day ban, it was definitely worth the comedy.
  6. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/4-Around-Baseball/page293 That's all. Nothing leading up to that.
  7. Anxiously awaiting ECJF's (proclaimed #1 NJH fanboy) to check in with a caps lock tirade.
  8. Oh it's 5 days? Lol I didn't know it was that long. Given the content of those posts and the precedent it sets, that's patently absurd. Furthermore when you take into account that: A) NJH was voted by his peers as the board's best poster he's one of the board proprietor's main sources of potential future income C) This ban effectively occludes one of Breaking Blue's top writers from contributing It comes across as plainly stupid.
  9. Beta tests have indeed been successful. Interpret that as you will.
  10. Real talk: This place's sole reason for existing isn't baseball talk. Quite honestly, there are better places to discuss some of the finer points of the game (The Book blog etc) but they can be pretty dry. Humour has always been a large part of this board's appeal to me and I'm guessing others would echo that sentiment. Banning legitimate posters for an obvious, inoffensive joke seems like a pretty misguided improvement strategy.
  11. I won't be happy unless it's a perma-ban.
  12. I'm about ready to unleash ThankBot 1.0. After it's release thank count will be rendered useless anyways. Nox Thanked - 2,000,000,000 Other Peons - 0
  13. Now ITT: Zee/Dogg calls the only person here working on a Phd in Astrophysics stupid. Moving right along.
  14. Completely disagree. He goes away, this place improves.
  15. Lern 2 reed. Nobody said the Blue Jays are a detriment to Rogers.
  16. It's far more likely that Rogers is making a profit in spite of TFG, not because of anything he's doing. The rest of the Rogers departments/divisions associated with the Blue Jays are generally excellent. Baseball operations is the profit paring weak link.
  17. This is wonderful to see.
  18. What a f***ing nut job.
  19. Doumit is a legend in learned baseball circles.
  20. You make a valid point. Watch them give him Cano $ now. It only takes one idiot. Words Boras lives by I'm sure.
  21. If you assume that the league will exist still in 20 years, you would take Harper over Cabrera every time. But that's usually a pretty stupid assumption to make as quite a few of these leagues only end up lasting 2 or 3 years. That changes the calculus significantly when determining the value of future vs. current fantasy points/wins/zscores.
  22. I would be surprised if Harper reached Cabrera's level of excellence at the plate (all we care about in fantasy). Taking Cabrera over Harper doesn't seem wrong to me. I've been beating the Harper drum in favour of him over McCutchen as that was the original comparison. I'd take Cabrera over McCutchen too.
  23. I'm guessing he'll end up signing for less than that.
