If you really have to ask this question then you have not been around GDTs often. Anyway, the decision went to NY and apparently they have a lot more camera angles they can review. It's either they saw one angle where it definitely was going to be a HR or there weren't any angles which would be significant enough to override the decision on the field. What was a tad more infuriating, at least to me, was the strike call on Revere even though you cannot say for sure the outcome would have been different if it was called a ball. With 2 on and 0 outs and in a 3-1 count you have a slight advantage cuz the pitcher does not want to have a bases-loaded situation with thunder (Donaldson), lightening (Bautista), and a tsunami (Encarnacion) in clear sight. The botched call put the hitter at a disadvantage as he had to swing, and protect the plate, at a less than ideal pitch. Anyway, that's just my take on it.
The Jays brought a lot of excitement and pride to their fans and for that I am grateful. It is true the fan turnout most probably has a trickle-through effect to revenue - advertising etc. - however I am not holding my breath on a big salary jump. The Jays may decide to take another kick at the can with their stars on 2016 but they will be expensive and aging after that. Tough decisions are going to be made this off-season for sure and I am glad I am not the one who has to do it.
