  1. I dunno if it's that they personally saw something in Gomes more than they feel this is another example of how bad this org is at assessing its own talent.
  2. Uhhh yeah it does
  3. Oh, to be young and naive again.
  4. Biggest difference between him and Buster Posey is number of games played. JP's numbers are just out of whack.
  5. Umm, any scrub can be a league average bat given enough opportunity. Your dumn
  6. Ahh shut yer hole, ya bike!!
  7. Total dream boat OBV
  8. I don't understand Walksareoverrated's purpose on this forum. All he does is act like a dumbass and derail discussion. Also, CHP actually tried to start a civil discussion. Regardless of how much of a dink he has been in the past, it's a reasonable topic. Why are you guys just proving this hive mind stuff?
  9. His reasonings for most of the awards are atrocious, but his thoughts reflect the majority of the BBWAA. I dunno if you thought that most people who think Trout (putting up back to back 10 win seasons in his first two years) is indeed the best player in the game are delusional, but everyone knows Cabrera is going to again unjustly win MVP because he plays for a team with good pitching and Trout does not.
  10. Excellent deduction, Sherlock
  11. Said every traditionalist ever.
  12. So it helps to win, but you have no idea how much, basically. So why even bother worrying about it? Winning breeds chemistry. Having skilled players leads to winning. Is this simple enough for you to understand?
  13. The defense is fine. Christ, AA is an idiot.
  14. He probably just told him that "he can't do that up here" and gave him a ticket.
  15. Just play each team an equal (or as close as possible) number of times.
  16. Jason Kipnis is pretty handsome. Never really noticed before, but the beard works.
  17. I feel like I just learned the Caramilk secret.
  18. In sports, what matters besides winning? If it helps the team, then there should be a quantifiable effect. Lol @ not caring whether or not "intangiblezzzz" actually help the team perform better. They are still super important, though! You are really out of your element. I'd just stop if I were you.
  19. Second time this has happened. The Braves seem like a bunch of dickheads, policing the old laws of the game or something.
  20. Character and makeup: Miguel Cabrera receives a DUI almost every single offseason. He is always out of shape. His first guess as to what happened in the first meeting of him and a new pitcher teammate is "I HEET A HOWM RAWN?!" Strong intangibles. Added: Barry Bonds was undoubtedly a top 5 player in the history of the sport. No one liked him. His teammates didn't, he had a terrible relationship with fans and media, he kept to himself so he didn't lead anybody, since everyone disliked him there was a rift in team chemistry... From 1993-2007, the Giants made the playoffs four times, including a 7 game WS appearance. They won 90+ games 7 times.
  21. Do you know how much those things contribute to a team winning games? If so, how much? How many more games would the Jays have lost without Mark DeRosa CLUBHOUZZZ PRESENTS-ing it up?
