Why does it "gotta be McGowan" ? His last outing he was pretty electric gave up a meaningless HR but he's barely pitched at all. If you DFA him, he'll be claimed and gone forever. You could DL him but why? if he's not hurt. Melky isn't helping an is a legit DL choice and Kawasaki has options. These are the 2 options they should be looking at.

I think McGowan has only pitched 3.1 innings in all of June, so ya, he's been a waste of a spot too. I still think if he's healthy he's more help than a totally busted Melky at this point. Even if it's just in a mop up role they use Dustin at for now.

well IF it's choice between those 3 it better be Kawasaki. But like I thought previously it really should be Melky on the DL he's going to end up costing runs soon in the OF

Melky to the DL would be the best move. Davis can fill for a couple weeks. If they keep putting Melky out there like they are he won't be standing letting alone playing come late August. He isn't doing anything to help right now and it's only getting worse. Let him get healed for down the stretch.

I'm sure this past start cost him another 4 or 5 attempts minimum. He won't be anywhere near the majors this year. Can't afford to use him as another experiment if they are going to try and be serious for any kind of playoff run later. Wait till next spring and see...unlesss of course the team flops and has no shot come September
