  1. Heh, I thought that's what he said, but I wasn't sure.
  2. Wow. I left school to walk home after the 12th inning. It's about a 45 minute walk, and I figured the game would be over by the time I got home.
  3. This is probably a case of the umpire realizing he blew the call, so he gave Bautista some rope.
  4. I just started watching the game and, at least on his two plays this inning, Encarnacion has looked pretty solid over at third. Nice throws.
  5. So what were the situations for the other two GDP? Since you apparentely couldn't be bothered to answer, and I am quite interested, I looked it up. Cabrera's first double play of the year was in the top of the third in New York, with no outs and runners on first and second. The game was a scoreless tie, so I would definitely agree that this was a fairly key situation. BR also lists this as a high leverage situation. His second double play was in the bottom of eight inning in Toronto, against the Orioles. The Orioles were up by four, and there were no outs, with a runner on first. While BR lists this as a medium leverage situation, I wouldn't really call it a "key" situation. While this is all very interesting, it's certainly not a meaningful sample size to say that he has a "habit" of grounding into double play in key situations. Only one of his 37 PAs in high-leverage situations has resulted in a GDP.
  6. A walk is not considered an at bat. I thought this was fairly common knowledge.
  7. How can you say he has a habit of it when that was only his third double play this season?
  8. It looks like Gose is having trouble reading Maholm.
  9. Until the two homeruns, he was looking about as good as he did when he went five innings against Boston and seven against San Francisco.
  10. Ortiz was doing well until this inning, and then quickly fell apart. Would you rather Gibbons brought in Loup without having warmed up?
  11. He had really low velocity on his pitches, and they took him out, saying he had forearm soreness.
  12. Well, at least Gattis' homeruns are helping my fantasy team.
  13. Ortiz looks like he's about to cry after McCann's homerun.
  14. The Royals have really dropped off after their good start. 4-16 in their last 20 games.
  15. He caught a foul pop up by going into the dugout, then quickly jumped over the dugout wall, ready to throw to third in case the runner tried to advance.
