  1. He doesn't anymore though!!! Not sure if you saw this, but when Martin was at the plate the camera panned over to the dugout and NAVARRO had his helmet and bat ready on the footsteps in the hole after Tulo to pinch hit for MELVIN (not even Barney!). I think Gibby has 0 faith in Smoak right now, to the point where he was going to run out Navarro in place of a corner OFer versus righty flamethrower Matt Bush Literally what you and I thought was Smoak's only job has been taken by Navarro, so that leads to me asking why is he on the team anymore? Defensive sub? only one PA in the whole series
  2. He's like, 80% gone next season. This is pointless lol
  3. Lol can we finally just drop Smoak? Since we saw Navarro possibly pinch hitting for Barney in the last inning of the ALDS game 3, can we finally just get rid of Smoak for the rest of the post season? Gibbons obviously lost faith in him, and since we're DHing Bautista (it's not like 1B is a hard position to play vs. OF or middle infield) it's not like a backup 1B is a must have. I gotta think Martin or Navarro can cover there if need be too. This way we can carry both Goins and Pompey on the roster (dropping Tepera in the process)
  4. True, that is a very good point. And if Travis is too hurt to play, he probably won't be better by the WS anyways, then you can shelf him and bring in a Pompey, etc. It would be cool to see that. Mind you though it's only for one day though, I think Liriano gets activated before play Saturday not activated after for Monday's game That is another good point as well. But I've got to think that the DL rules play like normal DL rules in this case being that the activation takes place in the middle of the series, as in you have to just drop a guy from the 25 man to make space for Liriano. What you're saying is very possible though, I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case
  5. I'm going to go on a limb and say yes, because his activation date is set for Saturday. I'm guessing we're dropping Barnes for Travis for the roster but keeping Tepera for Friday, then when we activate Liriano and can choose a player to drop to replace him. If that isn't possible then I don't see how this is different than forcing Liriano to skip the ALCS. Maybe they force us to tell the commish office who we want to drop when we activate Liriano when we hand in the rosters or keeping an empty roster spot (going in with 24 men). But it would make less sense imo
  6. The roster hasn't been released yet. The Jays did indicate that the roster leans on the health of Liriano. I think they have until 10am Friday (or maybe Thursday?) to submit the ALCS roster, and if Liriano will be healthy enough to go we probably see Pompey, if not then we might still carry Tepera like last series.
  7. I (and most of baseball) agree that Texas was completely in the wrong so I think everyone would probably agree (or at least not blame) us for targeting some of their athletes physically, if we chose to go down that path. I mean if you think about the whole series of events leading up to the punch, you'd have to agree that we saw arguably the most pussy move of any baseball team (or any group that's filmed on TV). Like I don't understand this at all. You boot the ball around for an entire inning in an elimination game, then hang a mistake pitch to our homer hitter who sends us to the ALDS and decides to flip his bat (in no direction towards Texas in anyway). The go on TV and tell everyone that we should respect the game more. The come to Toronto for a series, nothing happens. We go to Texas; nothing in game one, nothing in game two, then in the top of the 9th in the last meeting between the two teams, the manager and team pressures the new kid just fresh off a second chance and a bid in prison (who wasn't even on the team last year to have a connection with the bat flip) to hit Bautista in the ribs. I don't know how a group of grown men can think about the actions of another man for so long. Over what, the previous 8 months, all the Rangers did was sit at home and relive the bat flip everyday? That doesn't even sound good. I'm glad they got swept, serves them right for being some cowardly chumps
  8. I wonder, with the importance of this series and how we're starting on the road, should we have Stroman available in the BP just in case? Like he should be penned for game #3, but lets say Happ or Estrada struggles early and we need length (this is before Liriano is cleared so I guess only applies to Estrada) he can come in, give some length, then we can start him in game 5 after Sanchez and Estrada (on short rest) goes again? Stroman is going to be going on 13 days rest not sure if that's a good thing
  9. pfft you guys can't make me read!!! Besides I'm convinced this place has degraded my spelling!
  10. wow I really need to get a spellcheck. Thanks!
  11. Stopped at this GET THE CHAMPAGNE READY BOISSSS
  12. Lebron's our current team president?
  13. Something that people are not talking about which is very important is that Cleveland wasn't going to do the deal if Lucroy wasn't going to pen an extension. I'm pretty sure he want's to hit the FA market, good chance he gets a handsome payout. I'm pretty sure the last report was that the Indians camp felt that they were giving up too much for a rental anyways, it wasn't really a fit
  14. I think the fact that we reached the ALCS kinda played a role
  15. I would also reject a trade to Cleveland. s*** city and it's not like the fanbase cares about baseball, bottom 5 in attendance I think
  16. f*** this even year BS Cubs better win thus
  17. Not for my ass, I got to my seat an hour before first pitch too fml You take that back! very entertaining. When Goins pitched people were cheering like it was the 1st. Loved how 90% of the dome was still full by the end But f*** Carpaaraza
  18. Even in 2017????? WE MAY NEVER LOSE AGAIN!
  19. I certainly don't mind, but I don't want to break FrozenRope's rhythm I'll take over once he loses
  20. Product of him being in the AL East for so long! Regardless this indians team is well built and well run. It's a great chance for the entire fanbase to see what it's like being run by the machine that is Shapiro, before we take the series of course
  21. I don't think there's a doubt with all their casualties to their rotation
  22. Well now we know who we face. I'm just happy that we're not the only ones with multiple days of rest. We can stack our rotation exactly how we want it, I could still see Stroman going first. Maybe Stroman, Estrada, Sanchez, Happ (finally our depth can shine) Latest report from us: Atkins says that Liriano and Travis feel better. That's all, no medical information released. Lets hope we can get them both ready for Cleveland. Also I'll keep this thread updated with results, matchups, etc I miss making GDTs For now: Game 1 - Toronto Blue Jays 0 - 1 Cleveland Indians - Fri, Oct 14 8:08pm Game 2 - Toronto Blue Jays 1 - 2 Cleveland Indians - Sat, Oct 15 4:08pm Game 3 - Cleveland Indians 4 - 2 Toronto Blue Jays - Mon, Oct 17 8:08pm Game 4 - Cleveland Indians @ Toronto Blue Jays - Tue, Oct 18 4:08pm Game 5* - Cleveland Indians @ Toronto Blue Jays - Wed, Oct 19 4:08pm Game 6* - Toronto Blue Jays @ Cleveland Indians - Fri, Oct 21 8:08pm Game 7* - Toronto Blue Jays @ Cleveland Indians - Sat, Oct 22 TBD http://i.imgur.com/0bHhX8O.jpg
