    Unfortunately we won't Gibbons made it clear that if he's clear to pitch they need to play with 24 men Friday and get activated the following day. So because we listed him on the DL we have to wait it out

    OKAY. Gibbons just confirmed how the Liriano thing works. They need to make a decision on if he's good to go WHEN they submit their rosters because they're going to play with 24 men on Friday before activating him Saturday. We don't have a temporary player that we can add then remove to activate Liriano.

    Also has one of the biggest GB% so if he can manage to keep them on first it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Another good point is that Martin finally looks like he's got his arm back, he's been throwing down well since September (eyetest)

    yeah I'm surprised everyone, after what we saw in the last couple of weeks, doesn't see how much of a crapshoot the postseason is. Boston literally was the best team in the AL East across 162 but was riding a small losing streak and that eliminated them, while we came in hot and managed to get to the ALCS.

    I really doubt that. I really think Shapiro is going to edwin and his agent and say, "We're extending a QO to you, and here's the long term offer from us" with a figure and term that makes sense to Shapiro and makes sense given the budget now and the next X years

    It's funny how Bautista and Edwin's perceptions switched. Bautista has went from a "serviceable" corner OFer to probably a DH eliminating NL teams (unless he's going to convert to a fulltime 1B) and Edwin went from a DH to a serviceable 1B opening up the NL market for him. If a team that desperately needs offence or that "one last piece" they'll take Edwin even though he's not a great 1B. He'll get the job done

    Ehh, we don't know exactly how much they're offering. According to the report we're offering something that won't "blow him away"/can be outbid. Probably Shapiro is going to give him what he thinks is fair market value for him, maybe slightly skewed in Edwin's favour, but if a team really want's to get him they'll probably easily outbid us.

    Yeah that's what I would think too. I'm no expert at all, but I was surprised that we lead the AL and brought in over 40k a game. And I haven't counted in the postseason and the record setting TV ratings which is all extra revenue. Maybe Rogers is finally starting to realize that the Jays can be very profitable if they spend like a big market team? Plus they have a guy at the helm with an impressive resume in a small market. They probably want to gun for the division title next year so we can guarantee more home postseason games lol

    Do you know whether or not the Jays/Ownership expected to lead the AL in attendance? Maybe that made them realize there's more money and more potential to grow, I mean ticket prices are going up next year too but I still expect very strong crowds if they put a winning product on the field

    Wow. Did not expect this. Maybe Bautista takes the qualifying offer too? Who knows maybe he wants to rebuild his value. I also expect us to sign Reddick. Especially since we won't lose a pick signing him

    This will never be fixed lol unless the Jays/MLB decide to ban Stubhub tickets and create their own reselling marketplace where you scan the ticket and you get to resell it at face value. But that will never happen because this secondary market allows games to be quickly sold out which is guaranteed money for the team. Plus attendance numbers are reflected by ticket sales right? Yeah I doubt this ever gets fixed lol
