Notes:
MLB:
The Dodgers acquired RHP Ricky Nolasco and $197,000 international slot money for RHP Steve Ames, RHP John Wall, and RHP Angel Sanchez
Blue Jay players OF Jose Bautista, DH Edwin Encarnacion (reserve) and LHP Brett Cecil all made the All-Star Game. RHP Steve Delebar is a final vote candidate and the Jays have made an alliance with the Atlanta Braves, as their fans will vote Delebar and our fans will vote 1B Freddy Freeman
Twins:
Brian Dozier has been producing from that 2B position, positing a .387 average with 4 doubles and a homer in his last 9 games. Rookie outfielder Oswaldo Arcia who was hit by a pitch and removed from the game was on fire too, as he was hitting .343 with 3 homers in his last 22 games.
Canadian native Scott Diamond will be making his second start at the Rogers Center. The Canadian lefty has a nice 1.50 ERA against the Jays in two career starts.
Joe Mauer is looking to extend his 5 game hit streak, while Justin Morenau is one homer shy of tying the 4th most career homers as a twin. Bob Allison had 201 homers while Morneau has 200 career homers
Jays:
Jose Bautista's been hot, even if he did go 0/4, he's still hitting .424 with 4 homers in his last 9 games
Juan Perez has a solid start to his campaign. Actually, solid is an understatement if you start the season (after your callup) with 18.2 innings of scoreless relief pitching.
Yesterday's loss came at a bit of a surprise especially since Toronto were 9-2 against the Twins in their last 11 matchups
