Jays:
Buehrle is 8-4 with a 3.56 ERA in 18 appearances (17 starts) against the Mariners. He went eight scoreless innings and struck out 10 against Seattle the only time he faced them last season, allowing only three hits. Buehrle was saddled with a loss after he threw eight innings -- his longest outing of the season -- against the Astros his last time out. The 36-year-old is 5-3 with a 5.36 ERA this season.
Mariners:
Paxton, a native of Ladner, British Columbia, had his worst outing last season in Toronto when he allowed eight earned runs over 2 2/3 innings on Sept. 22. He got off to a bad start this year, but has been very good recently, coming in with a 20-inning scoreless streak. The 26-year-old is unbeaten in his last four starts, and most recently threw eight scoreless innings to claim a victory over the Red Sox on May 17.
