He went eight scoreless innings and struck out 10 against Seattle the only time he faced them last season, allowing only three hits. Buehrle was saddled with a loss after he threw eight innings -- his longest outing of the season -- against the Astros his last time out. The 36-year-old is 5-3 with a 5.36 ERA this season. Mariners: Paxton, a native of Ladner, British Columbia, had his worst outing last season in Toronto when he allowed eight earned runs over 2 2/3 innings on Sept. 22. He got off to a bad start this year, but has been very good recently, coming in with a 20-inning scoreless streak. The 26-year-old is unbeaten in his last four starts, and most recently threw eight scoreless innings to claim a victory over the Red Sox on May 17. Estrada is 1-2 since joining the Toronto rotation. He made his first six appearances this season out of the bullpen. Estrada is coming off his best performance of the season. He allowed three hits and two earned runs with eight strikeouts against the Astros in a no decision. Mariners: Hernandez is making his 14th start against the Blue Jays. He's 5-6 with a 4.80 ERA, which includes seven quality starts. At Rogers Centre, he's 4-4 with a 3.56 ERA in nine outings. The ace right-hander was dealt his first loss of the season against the Red Sox on Saturday, giving him a 6-1 record with a 2.30 ERA in eight starts this season. He's thrown only three quality starts, and his strikeouts are way down. He's fanned only seven batters over his last five starts, a span of 30 2/3 innings. Angels: Shoemaker has a win in his only career appearance against the Blue Jays. He pitched 3 2/3 innings out of the bullpen last July, allowing two earned runs on five hits to score a victory over Toronto.
