  1. Stupid long swing making no contact... Shorten up bud
  2. Great start by Martin && good eye by Upton. I have a feeling Jacoby and Owens stuff patience down everyone's throats -- with the help of the big 3 batters. Didn't work for Tulo but I think Upton can benefit from not swinging at everything
  3. I love soccer, but this isn't soccer. Stop adding so many time constraints. How about instead of limiting the time between pitches you limit the time managers have to call a review? Maybe speed up the review process? I don't have a problem with Grilli taking over 10 seconds to throw a pitch, but I have a problem with Gibby on the front step for over a minute while Hale's on the phone talking to the review team. If it's worthy of a review call it within 5-10 seconds of deadball
  4. Hech was for his glove and league average bat right? He wasn't supposed to be what Travis is now. So I think he's so far been a success in that department. Marisnick hasn't panned out despite being touted as a toolsy player (great defender tho). Barreto is the only one who we're waiting on to see if he's any good
  5. IMO it's much easier to sell a starter throwing in the high 90s with any sort of movement. And there's loads of them coming through the draft. As long as they can come up and put up good numbers in the minors, and avoid injury, they can trade them at a high value before their arms fall off. Somebody posted a Fangraphs article that was published around the trade deadline about that.
  6. This sums it right up. JP Riccardi was an idiot at drafting and AA was into drafting high ceiling pitchers, so its harder to develop hitters when you're not drafting them properly. Ryan Schimpf is having a solid season so far and he's a Jays org player. Other than that who were the high potential offensive prospects that we've had over the past 5 or so years? d'Arnaud? Gose? Wallace? really nobodys, but we've been stacked with pitching. Tellez is ripping s*** up so maybe he's the next one. I also kind of agree with Dinger's point. There's a difference homegrown vs. development. Home-grown are IFAs like Vlad and drafted players like Tellez. Developed players include Bautista and EE who we fixed, and if it werent for the Jays, would probably be kicking rocks up and down the AAAA train. Donaldson and Travis don't count as developed because they came here with their skill-sets and they flourished here, but would have done the same in their previous teams.
  7. I wonder how active were going to be on the FA market vs the trade market. I mean the rotation and most of the pen is under contract for next year but we have holes if we don't resign any bats. If we don't resign Bautista I'd like to see Reddick and Moss come here through FA. I think Reddick in right and a platoon of Upton and Moss in left would be really nice. Really will be interesting to see how the trade market pans out this off season given this dry FA class
  8. What? The CAD is gonna drop drastically again? Ffs
  9. Yup he's the perfect guy for the job. He's not the best tactitian but I doubt you can find a better people's guy than him which is what the team needs more imo. Plus he's ok with the higher ups telling him what to do or even players making changes. Makes for waaaay less drama than other big market teams
  10. Hahahaha Gibby's was nice too but the beginning... man lol http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/gibbons-flare-donaldson-bat-choice-not-big-deal/?row=0&row_id=1617493&xp=2962875&up=3&vid=5087437183001 Gives Barry Davis the death stare and says "maybe that's none of your business" in a serious tone for like 5 seconds before answering the question. Gibby doesn't f*** around with the media LOL he's the man
  11. Hahahahaha did you guys see Donaldson's post match interview? https://images.rogersdigitalmedia.com/video_service.php?videoId=5087425832001&playerKey=AQ~~,AAAAAGWRwLc~,cRCmKE8Utf5bNHn__DhfTN2BEQzlJvig&height=100%25&width=100%25 He probably had some Tuscan Leather on LOL
  12. Wow Sanchez hit a cheap hit, but Benoit left the ball up for Judge Osuna 4 out save pls
  13. Bahahahah well you came through on your end no one can doubt that!
