  1. After 2 disengages you probably getting guys that normally don't steal making an attempt. The numbers are meaningless until base stealing ability is factored in.
  2. Did a little googling, Tigers are linked to Yamamoto. Tigers signing Maeda is just interesting with Ohtani and Yamamoto on the market, and the Tigers payroll space.
  3. Ya Detroit isn't a desirable location but who knows what Ohtani's motivations are
  4. Is Maeda a prelude to a big offer for Ohtani? Getting him, along with the Twins divesting assets, would immediately make the Tigers the division favourite. If not for Baez, the Tigers would be in a good position for a big Ohtani offer. Current 2024 payroll is $85M. $25M of that is for the aforementioned Baez, lol.
  5. Interesting that Sorrow's source says the Jays explored trade options for Jansen, Kirk, and Moreno, in that order.
  6. A nice trade chip too, if he bounces back.
  7. Damn a lot of juicy nuggets in here. thanks! The Bichette and Vlad stuff more or less reflects the board consensus. Lack of interest in Kirk is another dagger in the Sheriff's corpse. As far as the 3 catchers, Jays took the best deal they could get. The board may have overrated their value. Bad news on Martinez and Barger being defensively limited.
  8. Nice pickup by the Tigers. Further removed from TJ, Maeda could get back close to his pre-injury level.
  9. Eloy played 14 games in the OF in 2023. Getting close to being a DH only
  10. ZIPS is pretty conservative, mind you.
  11. Let's bring JP Ricciardi and Gord Ash into the discussion, for balance.
  12. Said it before, will say it again. Playoffs 50% luck, 50% team quality.
  13. Arenado is the larger possibility
  14. It's been reported that Shatkins wanted to move those players in 2017 but Rogers corporate pushed back.
  15. AA would have signed Vlad long term
  16. Rogers corporate, yes. Fans, no.
  17. No its not a results based industry, its a profit driven industry and by that measure Shapiro is doing great
  18. If you are getting the Babe, then yes
  19. Lot of pressure on Vlad, to be sure. And part of his issue is he tries to do too much. He had a great eye when he came up, now he's increasingly swinging at bait. Mentally he's been a little messed up. IMO.
  20. C'mon y'all. This is a team built around one Vladimir Guerrero Jr. All those free agent pitching signings and payroll increases have been to provide the supporting cast. Overall, the FO has done a good job putting a contender on the field these past few years, but as long as Vlad sucks, the Blue Jays are unlikely to win in the PS.
  21. Best JD can hope for is a minor league deal. He will retire when the realization hits him.
  22. I read that the arrest of the girl and her family is imminent
  23. It was just a few yrs ago the Jays farm was top 5 in MLB. It can just as quickly become top 5 again.
  24. Even a moron would have success drafting for the O's the last several years.
