even though you're a troll, this bears repeating: the 6th and 7th starter on the depth chart typically pitch between 18 and 25 games between them. That's not small potatoes. Norris likely the 6th starter, based out of Buffalo, and Estrada the 7th based out of the bullpen.

I like how you've got Hutch after Dickey. Need to maximize Hutch chance of success and his pitch count. Dickey effect will help. -

Comparison to Bautista (another late bloomer) is a good one. He is one of the most valuable players in MLB with that contract. Donaldson could follow a similar performance trajectory. Hey, Bautista was a 3rd sacker too! Let's say someone like Matt Dean catches fire and is MLB ready sometime in 2016.... a performing Donaldson with a good contract would fetch a significant return. I expect there have been negotiations on a longer term deal since the trade and arb figures exchanged mean nothing to either party. No hard feelings.

Lazy player when he was with Jays. How many times did we blow up at his jogs down the 1B line on groundouts? And wasn't there one instance where on a groundout he walked down the 1B line? This is a case where the intangibles outweigh the tangibles.

If a better option comes around I agree. Between Izturis or Goins on the bench, if Travis is starting, I'll take Goins. Don't want Izturis anywhere near SS.

Makes sense, with skyrocketing FA contracts.... the cost controlled years of prospects that pan out that much more valuable. Drafting and player development is by far the key to a successful team.
