  1. on the other hand, regardless of how they fare against the rest of ALE, i can't see the Jays competing for the WS unless they empty the farm for at least 2 quality SP and 1 or 2 quality relievers. better move is to sell
  2. Castro is top tier. Should be 5 or 6 on Jays prospect list.
  3. I too expect some regression from the Yankees
  4. Hey i bet Bautista was worse as a teenager. Pompey = Bautista-lite? Seriously though, when it comes to Pompey and Alford I see them as very similar ballplayers, with a good chance of both being above average OFs.
  5. AA said last year there were moves available, but they didnt make sense for the club. Same thing likely to happen this year.
  6. he has like 10 other accounts to thank himself
  7. LaCava an idiot if true
  8. because no one knows. short term fluctuations would not be an issue, but long term weakening of the Cdn dollar against the greenback will have a significant effect, as most of the revenue is $Cdn and the liabilities are $US
  9. if the Jays move prospects in an effort to win this year, and then need to cut the budget, the team will be in a tough spot.... no money, and no farm
  10. 282 plate appearances with Jays last year, Lawrie amassed 1.8 WAR. 343 plate appearances with A's this year, Lawrie has amassed 0.9 WAR. At least he is staying reasonably healthy, but needs to play a whole lot better.
  11. Have the cards hacked the jays value system? No trade otherwise
  12. Posted a few weeks ago stroman would be in play. If the team is all in and aa trying to save his job, it's the most likely move. Wrong move, unless controllable talent coming back. Will more likely be similar to last years shark and hammel trade
  13. What? If you boss gives you a non-illegal order, you do it or you gone. Are you suggesting AA should have resigned based on principle?
  14. Kris Bryant should debut top 10?
  15. Navarro is a excellent, very strong catch...... candidate for DFA
  16. All for it if it doesn't involve any of the top 10 prospects. 2 or 3 top 11-20 prospects for Bruce and Leake would be fine by me. Bruce and the RC would be a good fit.
  17. When Beeston is replaced we might find out what really happened in 2012 and who made the decisions. The 2012 trades were anomalies. The trades before and after have been either good or debatable at least.
  18. Let me clarify. I agree they were not good or even neutral trades, just would not classify as terrible. As for Smoak, there is another year of control I believe, whereas Lind is a free agent at the end of the year. Picking up Smoak, and moving Lind for Estrada was a good sequence of moves.
  19. Would not classify the Lind or Snider trades as terrible. Also, will not be surprised if Smoak and Lind have same wRC+ at end of season, and we know there is no comparison on the D. The Hill trade was understandable, just didn't work in Jays favour. The others, yes, terrible, stupid trades along with Napoli.
  20. At least they got rid of Thole..... but wait, Dickey has sucked. Hmmmmm.......
  21. You may be right. Although they could flip someone after the season for prospects, to bring the commit down. Half a season of EE will not be expensive.
  22. he may accept a trade to a 'true contender'.... Cards have Mark Reynolds playing 1B
  23. There's always room by mid or late season due to injury or suckage
  24. unless they can move EE to a true contender for cost controlled pitching
  25. Some impact from TJS recovery. Expect him to finish the season strong and be in Toronto at some point in 2016
