  1. I'll ignore the snarky comments. IMO, it's dumb to hold on to JD and lose him for nothing, for a 30-1 chance at a WS. Better to use him to acquire assets to complement Vlad and Bo. It's a common view, so why take issue when I bring it up? Even if the Jays are a game or two out of WC at deadline, he should be dealt. And no, I'm not going to search through dozens of chat logs at FG to find the quotes. My mother has maybe 3 months left and I'm leaving for London in 20 minutes. Ciao.
  2. i know, i'm looking for more up to date commentary watch the language
  3. and if no room on roster it doesnt i presume
  4. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-blue-jays-should-rebuild/ would have to individually search the chat transcripts, but Sarris, Cameron, Sullivan, Longenhagen have all said the Jays should rebuild.
  5. ok so can put a waiver claim on any remaining FA, and if claim successful, you have the option of adding
  6. Pillar floor, Yelich ceiling Why do you ask?
  7. at what point can we freely add/delete from the roster? immediately after the waiver draft? or a specific date/time to be announced
  8. how many waiver picks have you made? if 5 you are done, if not you are still picking
  9. With respect to the last sentence, did I tell you to STFU?
  10. Stroman a superstar? Depends on how you define it I guess.... Anyway, Shapiro himself said the rebuild would have started last year except for fanbase considerations
  11. If a young team i would agree. Jays are full of old, oft injured players and one superstar who will most likely be gone at end of season.
  12. oh they will be ready sometime in 2018, but probably won't be 5-7 WAR players for a few years after that, if they even reach that level
  13. There's always a chance but realistically against the likes of the Yanks, Stros, Dodgers, Nats...... a WS this year is like 30:1.
  14. Based on almost 3 WAR from Tulo. Lots of ppl including top baseball guys at FG and BP think 87 is too high. Also, I take a longer term view of things. Jays best chance at a WS will be a few years after Vlad and Bo get elevated to the show. Whatever we can do now to improve those chances, should be done.
  15. of course he does, but this is a blue jays discussion board.... where ideas get thrown about, just like the above post if you don't like what i write, too f***ing bad
  16. If you could cut down on the booze.....
  17. Are you a mod?
  18. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/why-mike-moustakas-market-didnt-develop/ Excellent article on Moose
  19. Man, trading 1 year of JD for a couple of good prospects and signing Moose for 1 year at $6.5M would have been great Frees up money to get Cobb too And leaves door open to sign JD after 2018
  20. Vlad #1, Bo #2 this time next year
  21. nah, i want to see another WS for toronto
  22. You referred to trade and FA, my comment had more to do with FA.... the elite guys are getting paid still, the middle guys, not so much But yes, see your point in MLB in general has lowered their valuation of FA or close to FA guys compared to 'spects and guys with years of control
  23. OK so trade JD alone for prospects, find some filler for 3B then With the FA market pricing this, it makes some sense to tap into it, as others have pointed out
  24. Hoarding relievers is what you do when you want to find s*** that sticks and can be moved at the deadline for prospects.
