  1. I doubt any MLB team would give Vlad more than 7 yrs guaranteed
  2. Soto is re-signing with the resurgent Nats.
  3. Yelich might be out for the season. Buxton appears to be hurt again. Might be able to dispose of Springer.
  4. A retool with the idea of putting bums in the seats isn't going to work. Jays just don't have the pieces. Take a loss for a year or two, bank on large profits that come from a young exciting team (that Shatkins failed to deliver).
  5. Casas may not be back this season, based on Bosox manager comments
  6. I'd take Miller for Kikuchi in a heartbeat
  7. Retooling is what the Jays did for 20 f***ing years with nothing to show for it. They should focus on getting as many lower level high risk/reward guys they can.
  8. ok, my bad. what is "oldtimers"
  9. Bo never wanted to be in Toronto to begin with. The closer he gets to FA, the more apparent this becomes.
  10. How many HRs for Judge in the steriods / juiced ball era?
  11. Or a Seotember 1 callup. He would still be eligible for ROY incentive in 2025
  12. You are contributing nothing but attacks on other posters. A permaban is coming.
  13. Not gonna bother, you are clueless. Baseball America has the Orioles and Dodgers as the top two farm systems. I could name prospects in the Dodgers system like depaula and many others, but not gonna waste more time on an eejit.
  14. Dodgers farm system is having a great year.
  15. Disagree. Many, if not all, contenders would want to have Bassitt.
  16. A confusing post. Basically you are saying that exclusive negotiating rights with pending free agents has value? The value depends on things we do not entirely know (1) the player's willingness to forgo free agency, and (2) the team's player salary budget, as dictated by the team owner. In many cases, the two factors do not mesh and the team has to explore trade options to avoid the risk of losing the player for nothing (or maybe a pick). In the case of Cleveland and Lee, the decision was made that Lee could not be signed or was not in the team's interest, and he was traded for what turned out to be a good return.
  17. No guarantee a 36 yr old Bassitt will be a reliable innings eater in 2025. The risk is too high, trade him now.
  18. There's no way the Jays do not listen on offers for Bo or Vlad, or any player for that matter. It would be executive malpractice not to. As Laika says, anything Shatkins says to the contrary is just politically correct posturing.
  19. Trading Bassitt / Kikuchi to contenders that need pitching can immediately make the Jays better in 2025 (e.g. Vargas from the Dodgers). Then just sign FA pitchers to replace them. Bassitt in particular is getting close to the cliff.
  20. Volpe botched the far easier play
  21. Worked out beautifully
  22. RT has always had high reliever risk attached to him. That risk is getting damn close to being realized.
  23. Ya maybe. Losing Bo and Vlad for nothing will suck. Very Rox-esque.
  24. Last in ALE, this offseason # of Jays prospects on top 100 lists = 0 What good is a billion $$ stadium renovation if it sits almost empty Vlad and Bo gonna look around.... "f*** this" Dark days are coming Trade Vlad et al ASAP, accelerate the tank
  25. After 1993 and Gillick leaving, Gord Ash didn't have a clue what he was doing. Carter got trotted out every day to suck. Alomar Jr was playing like he wanted to leave, the pitching was a shambles. The park went from full and loud every game to several thousand and quiet as a mouse in a hurry.
