  1. Not what I am saying. The risk is he gets called up early (and being called up before September would be early), struggles, and has to be sent back down. MLB pitching >>>> AA pitching. I have no doubt he will be an elite MLB'er.
  2. Acuna with a debut game tater edit - correction, 2nd game

Nah I just prefer the dynasty route. Proper asset management a la Sam Pollock moves JVR at the deadline. And gutting draft picks for a d-man in the offseason? You want to go back to the old Leafs approach? By the way, the game has changed, speed wins in today's NHL. Same as in MLB (for other reasons), prospects and picks have increased in value in the NHL. There are excellent d-man prospects on the Marlies. One of them was called up (Dermott) and may be a 1st pairing d-man as soon as next season. Like I said, I prefer the dynasty approach. If you prefer the one-window approach, where picks are gutted for shut down d-men approaching or in their decline years, so be it. We disagree.
  4. Oh come on lol I get the ridiculous K and BB rate is unprecedented. But there have been plenty of so called can't miss prospects that missed. All I am saying is there is risk in bringing up Vlad prior to September cup of coffee time. Not to mention starting the time clock early.
  5. Been said about many prospects, and turned out to be wrong. Jays are not going to bring up a franchise player unless they are sure he is ready. It would be good to see how Vladdy fares against AAA pitchers. AA pitchers don't necessarily have a multi pitch arsenal, command, or quality secondaries. A lot of AAA pitchers do.
  6. 6 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 8 K Shut it, haters.

Gardiner was on the ice for 5 goals. Giveaway after giveaway. Throwing the puck around without looking. Chasing the puck, not playing the man. Learn hockey, Spank.

Nah, Gardiner is a chokejob. And keeping JVR and trading for Plekanec were big mistakes. Instead of gaining a 1st and 3rd for JVR, a 2nd is lost for useless Plekanec.

two things i've been saying all year - gardiner sucks and trade JVR for picks game 7 - gardiner is brutal and JVR is invisible
  10. too early to bring the kid up anyway.... he could very well struggle against MLB pitching. let him get his MiLB seasoning and reduce the risk of having to send him back down after bringing him up. cup of coffee in Sept, sure

Gardiner can't let the guy get position like that.... f***!

what a f***ing game anyone else notice Gardiner's minutes have been slashed? he's so damn useless in his own end edit - TOI still high for Gardiner, but didnt see him that much 2nd half of 2nd period
  13. There will always be exceptions. If there is a correlation it means there is more risk with skinny, smaller pitchers
  14. Is there a correlation between muscle mass and durability / stamina for a pitcher?
  15. Another excellent start for 21 yr old Michael Kopech in AAA. Through 4 starts, 21 IP, 7 BB, 29 K, 2.14 ERA Next Verlander, J4L19!
  16. Goddamn work is killing me, set my lineups, someone gets the bench today while i was in a meeting all afternoon and the guy i would have subbed in goes 2 for 4....
  17. 1 game vs. how many for Travis and Diaz?
  18. Tyler Mahle with 11K though 6 IP, no hits, 2BB
  19. Which league is this, i have Taylor in both BORED and BBDL. Has both power and speed and heating up of late. Playing time a potential issue, but he's my pick, FWIW
  20. Keibert Ruiz aggressively placed in AA to start the season at 19 yrs old, and starting to heat up. 11.7% K rate so far is excellent. Known for his defense at catcher, the bat has been an impressive surprise.
  21. Incentive to succeed. Seems like the teams teach about nutrition, but don't pay for the food. Perhaps the thinking is the players that don't have the drive to succeed, who will invest in proper nutrition, etc, will fail anyway. So cut the losses.
  22. It's close. Ohtani has to be in the convo too.
  23. was following Berti for a while, slick fielding and very fast, hit tool just isnt there
